I love it! I'm halfway through too, I think. (I'm about to do the 4th sage so maybe it's past halfway? I don't know)
But I like it better than Majora's Mask simply because of it's more solid plot. I love both a lot, though. They're both unique.
I noticed that with OoT I miss the obvious, haha. I just found out how to get the Song of Storms even though it seems so easy now that I think about it.
i don't think i've played it before (and if i have, i don't remember playing it). i voted for 'didn't like it' though, because i'm not really into the zelda series...
I'm sure a lot of people love it and feel nostalgia towards it, but it's not my kind of game. I played it but stopped at some point. I'm like that with pretty much every LoZ game. It's okay though.
it's an absolute classic, i don't know if it's because most of the users are younger but i'm surprised it's not as loved, it's one of the best games nintendo has ever released imo (although i did prefer majora's mask) when it came out i remember thinking there was nothing else like it and it was the first game that got me into all things video games and nintendo
I have a weird relationship with OOT. It's a great game and I recognize its accomplishments or whatever but I'd rather play any other 3D Zelda game short of Skyward Sword. The soundtrack (along with Majora's Mask) is unmatched across the series for me though.
I've been meaning to go back for the 3DS Master Quest as I've yet to play that so maybe my opinion will change a bit?
I've beaten the game once on Wii Virtual Console and 3DS, and it stoods out the test of the time for the most part. While not being a GOTY contender as of now, it does indeed have its own impactful merits back when it was released on N64 back in 1998.
The N64 version may not have aged quite well today thanks to its outdated graphics and pretty low frame rate, but it did set the bar for many other adventure games to surpass, by having a certain control of the camera and introduced the Z-Targeting system that locks on one foe/NPC at a time.
The 3DS version ironed out some of the most glaring issues that the original had, which further increases its timeless appeal. It also brought a second quest that changes the layout of dungeon to increase the difficulty, mirror flip every single area and doubles the damage you receive. After playing the 3DS version, I could hardly come back to the N64 one.
I got this game a year ago and I quickly realized I completely sucked at it lmao. I need to check walkthrough every 2 mins because I never know what to do. But even then, I love the game! I think it's fun and I like it! I especially love the music! It's not my favorite game, but it's still cool! I'd recommend it. And also, maybe I would like it more if I was better at it xD
I like it a lot but I wouldn't agree that it's this pinnacle of gaming that some fans make it out to be. I really enjoyed playing it on the go and this thread reminds me I never finished my Master Quest run through.
