M'yeah - The problem as I see it is that it becomes towns problem if there's going to be policy lynches or vigilante shots used on these people, and that it actually benefits scum who can just ignore them and wait for town to potentially kill off their own numbers. That in itself ruins the entire balance of the game.
The simple solution to this is for everyone to just stop casting placeholder votes on themselves and step up their game instead - If you won't be around and online near the voting deadline, at least cast your vote on whom you find the most suspicious. That's what I do.
Yes but what about inactive players that come on, place their vote on themselves and don't post only once to avoid modkill, Ryan did it yesterday. It's unfair on the rest of us. I don't see how it's tactical really.
It becomes town's problem in the short term, but once there's a meta established that you will be killed if you're inactive or placeholder vote all the time, the people who do that will either stop playing, or stop being inactive. And then scum can't do it either.
I already said that maybe tactical wasn't the right word to describe it, but I still disagree with banning it completely. It's only my opinion, and it's not like my own opinion is gonna make a difference whatsoever. =P

I like this idea.
So long as it is still frowned upon, this might work. I just don't want to see some people do it once per game because "it's allowed" and use it as a tactical gambit of sorts. As soon as you establish a rule like that, people may try to exploit it, and get the most out of it. And giving people a one-day-free-pass not to vote is clearly not the intention of the rule, but that may be how some would take advantage of it.

Estimated to be around the end of this week. There were high levels of inactivity in the last Nub game (with several modkills and both town & scum players not bothering to submit actions), so I didn't see a need to get the next one up immediately.

well the words said on that obs still hurt me...
Um what I said makes sense.. that's literally why obs exists. Players just can't go PM you and rant about your playstyle while you're in the game. But more cruel things have been said in mafia, I can think of many insults Elise has received. But none of you said anything. So when it's suddenly about you why are you upset? I've received plenty of hate in mafia before, but I know it doesn't carry over outside the game. Tbh when you see people having a problem with something about your PLAYSTYLE, not YOURSELF as a person that should push you to improve and change for the better. Maybe I'm not a very sensitive person and I can't really feel empathy or sympathy for things, but this has happened all the times in obs. I don't see why it's suddenly a big fuss. The "noobs" get so much hate all the time - in and out of the game. No says it's going to far or that it's mean.
