Official Turnip Prices Thread

Personally, I don't care whether or not people charge people - I just want nothing to do with people like that.

It's nice to get tipped by grateful people, but I never demand it. I also try to tip others for letting me visit their town so long as they accept it.

All in all, I see no reason to charge, but yes, it is within a Mayor's right to do so. But that doesn't change the fact that most people who do it are either rude and/or greedy, since there really is no legit reason for doing so in the first place. (and no, "but it's wasting my precious time" isn't an excuse - you're choosing to let visitors in. Don't want your time wasted? Then don't do it. Simple.)

They are choosing to let visitors in....but with a fee ....because they dont want time wasted. How is it a FACT that people who do this are considered rude? They have something that is in demand, and they put a price on it. Simple supply and demand. You have the goods, you can come. You dont, you cant. He's asking for a simple 10% tip, with no price limit. If you only wanted to sell a couple bundles, you can. It's not OUTRAGEOUS. How is this not a legit way to make money, thats like saying that anyone in the ReTail forum is greedy and should'nt be able to make their own prices for their goods. People sell their items for high prices, or for whatever price they believe is RIGHT. Sometimes its more than what i am will to pay, so i move on. I dont go ranting and claiming that people are rude/greedy because their prices are too high for a rare item, villager, etc. If i like the price, i buy. If i dont i'll live.

It should already be common courtesy to give someone a tip. But then there's those greedy people that will just take advantage of your kindness, make millions upon millions off of you, and leaves without tipping, just so they can have more money when they leave

Asking for pay just weeds out those ungrateful people that just take advantage of you for their only their own personal gain rather than tipping, which makes it beneficial for all people involved

You tip people regardless. Yeah, I know that. But don't charge someone for walking in and making a profit when they're gonna leave a tip anyways.

Besides, I don't like rejecting people because they don't have what I want. That's why I do it for free. I feel good about myself for making someone else happy. The end. If you feel good about yourself by charging people and rejecting others for your benefit only, that's on you.

If they sell turnips, they'll have 99k to drop after 1 trip though, so there is no real excuse for them not having what you want.

The other person gets at least 9 mil because of you. You get 1 mil because of them. Who benefitted more???

If anything, you're the one that is LEAST benefitting from that exchange

Guys this thread isn't here to debate on the moralities of people who do or don't charge people to come into their towns.

It's to share your prices and to look for prices. If you have any disagreements on how people handle the way they do things, take it to a PM or make a new thread. It's just spamming this one up and preventing people from using it properly.
