I think it's just for big things like trees, which I don't mind in that case, but I Think it would be a litle annoying to have a stamina meter all day in the game. It would put a major dent in the landscaping since you can do a lot in one day for animal crossing. I wouldn't mind if there was cooking, but I don't remeber seeing anything that would point towards cooking either way.
like other people have pointed out eating fruit is probably only for bigger activities, but it would still be cool to have a cooking system. it probably wont truly happen, but ive always thought it would be neat to have an animal crossing game that had a lowkey farming system (not really in depth or many options; just a few more things you could plant and just water everyday) that you could harvest crops from and use to make lil treats for your villagers. it could be another collectible thing, but if a lot of new furniture and clothes are being added maybe we dont need more collectibles.
I don't think they're going for what makes the most sense in a game where we're socializing with anthropomorphic animals and hauling tons of furniture in our pockets lol

I agree with what other people are saying, hopefully it'll just be for the trees and nothing else.
I wouldn't be against cooking if it was just like any other crafting item, just get the right elements needed, put it together, and then you have the food, but it's just a furniture item. I'm a bit of an Animal Crossing purist...
