After seeing the trailer and hearing some rumors/leaks about AC Switch, I honestly feel as if it's going to be some kind of GCN remake. The quality of it is completely up to you, but I feel as if it will be very similar to GCN, just with added characters and such. I'm kind of in the middle when asked if I'd like that or not. Population Growing is my favorite AC game, and I don't really want to see it ruined by watered-down villagers, but then I think of all of the ways that I could see them expand on GCN! So, what do you think? Do you think AC Switch will be its own game or a GCN remake?

I just don't think anyones got any idea what's coming next its probably a decent game I wouldn't have thought they'd go back to the original ones

I've never played Population Growing, but I just get the feeling the game is a lot meaner, if that makes sense. The way the villagers act and stuff like the gyroid face would probably upset younger players too much nowadays for Nintendo to consider a remake.

Also, going by the announcement trailer in Nook's office, I think that somehow will feature strongly in the next game. Maybe it'll be a combination of HHD and ACNL, to give us more ability to plan villager houses and whatnot. Either way, unless Nook was more of an important character in PG, I think that also speaks against it being a remake.

While I do like the GCN Animal Crossing game, I highly doubt that the Switch one will be a remake
of it. The only thing I can imagine is that they may take some inspirations from it, but then again...
I guess they will take ideas from every AC if they want to make the new AC game better then the
pervious ones.

Then again, a remake sounds like a nice idea (like releasing it next to the new main one). But I doubt
that they would make one of it.

It would be better than a NL remake, but it still wouldn't be good. I want an entirely new AC game with tons of new features, villagers, more personalities, and more creative control.

I voted "no" because I don't see why Nintendo would all of a sudden want to remake an Animal Crossing game when they've never done it before, and the series has existed since 2001.

I HIGHLY doubt it will. Nintendo seems to be building up the excitement for AC Switch. I don't see why they would drop it and just say that it's just a remake.

i don't believe it will be, but if it was i don't think it would be the worst thing ever...

as much as i would absolutely LOVE the gc game to be ported to a newer console (with all the same aesthetics and music, except with updated graphics, and maybe a few things from new leaf like new furniture sets/villagers + the ability to build pwps) i do want a new game and am 99.99% sure we're going to get one

The world doesn’t need another remake. And newer Animal Crossing games kinda make the older AC games unplayable.

I am almost certain this is not a GCN remake. Even in the Tom Nook short, the artstyle most closely resembles New Leaf.

Honestly, I don't even want a remake of Gamecube. I think its artstyle already makes it look very nice, even with N64 graphics. I would definitely support a Virtual Console release of Animal Crossing, and possibly even a translated E+ (probably won't happen but would be nice), but a remake just seems kind of pointless.

If they did this I wouldn’t be mad tbh - I do think I’d choose an entirely new game if I had the choice though

I doubt it will be a remake as well since I think it would be more in line with New Leaf in various factors, but I could see them adding back features (like multiple level/2 cliff towns, 15 villagers, and gold trees for example) as a way of appealing to veteran players and to spice things up overall.

Animal Crossing always seems to be moving forward and never goes back, it could take elements but it will be drastically upgraded.

To be honest, they already did some of that with New Leaf. Quite a few things "returned" from the Gamecube game in New Leaf to some degree -- like the island and public work projects (outdfrom E+)

I would really like to see the GCN game come to Switch through Virtual Console or whatever they'd call it now though. (there was a credible rumour on that two years ago but who knows what happened to that) I don't think an actual remake would be good, they would end up ruining some of the original's charm in the process probably.

As much as I love Population Growing (really, it's my favorite), this would be a huge step back in the wrong direction and I highly doubt they would want to do that.
