to be fair i do feel bad sometimes about fishing and catching bugs and then selling them but its also one of my favorite parts of the game ;-;

I’m a full on animal rights activist and I think PETA should save their energy for real life animals, instead of wasting time protesting against a virtual world. Focus on animals who need your help, not just lines of code.

I'm a vegetarian, so not full-on vegan, but I also recommend that you don't listen to what they have to say. Like, ever. PETA is a company known for being cruel to animals in their possession (which they supposedly fight to prevent), so them whining about catching fish and bugs in a VIDEO GAME is hilarious. I already have beef with PETA due to their horrendous Pokémon parodies, so this was just another reason why they stink. It's a shame that they're the loudest of the animal rights groups, because there's a ton of good ones that ACTUALLY care about animals and...just aren't stupid.

also if I was going to someone's island and found out it was named "veganville" I'd probably shut my game off right then and there.

Honestly, I agree with everyone else, Peta is just bad. There's no harm in catching fish or bugs, as I'm sure once you sell them they get returned to the sea or something like that, so there's no miserable animals. It's a video game, which isn't real, yet Peta is whining like a toddler wanting a cookie of a video game. I find that both hilarious and shameful. But for real, don't listen to Peta as they probably just do it for attention since someone pointed out that they do the opposite of what they claim to do. There are plenty other vegan animal rights groups that aren't as well-known that are way better than peta.

I wouldn’t be surprised if PETA was doing this as a running gag at this point. They’ve attacked countless video games and for what? It’s literally a fictional children’s game. If you want to advocate for veganism then put your energy and resources into the real deal, not waste your time criticizing a harmless game. What’s bad-mouthing a video game going to do?

This is comedy gold. There's absolutely no way the person writing this didn't know what they were doing. The fact that they tried to use real-life statistics for video game logic. If they think Animal Crossing was bad, wait till they hear about fps's. Also... I don't think they know that you can't have actual pet dogs in game.

In my opinion, this is overall a really funny article and I thank peta for giving me free entertainment
