Opinions on PETA’s vegan guide to animal crossing?

I remember seeing that article when they wrote it, made me laugh. Like by their logic nobody should ever play any violent video game because killing is wrong.

Also, the stuff they talk about is so harmless in the context of the game. Catching bugs and fish does NOT kill them. I think the only time some living creature is "killed" is turning the manila clam into bait? Correct me if I'm wrong lol.

I love that they try to capitalize on current trends, as if that's gonna make people buy into it more. Anyone else remember when Pokemon Sword and Shield were new and they tried using Wooloo as a way to discourage sheep shearing? Yeah, that also went about as well as you'd expect.

not even vegans take PETA seriously. I've been vegan for 5 years now, most of us actually actively dislike PETA as it's the number one thing people point to when calling us "crazy". I really recommend not giving them attention, they thrive off of that and controversy.

Oh my word I'm vegan and this makes me so mad. I really feel like they're purposely doing this to give vegans a bad name. Haha preachy vegan dictating what you should and shouldn't do in a game. It's laughable ughhh.

It's so unbelievably stupid. I've never fished ONCE irl and I never will because I'm vegan but... SUE ME, I ADORE fishing in video games. I love playing games like Animal Crossing and Stardew valley and decorating my house in nautical style and putting on a sailor outfit and catching all fish pretending I'm some fisherman ship captain person for the AESTHETIC. That's what I DO I can spend hours reeling in fish after fish after fish. Let people do what they want in games it's not hurting anyone or anything. Some people torture their sims to death, who cares. or give them angsty custom traits so you can roleplay your OCs being sad people, totally not something I do

Just further proves that PETA are crazy beyond belief, and shouldn't be taken seriously. It's pretty insane they actually took the time to think about ACNH when there are a zillion animals out there that could benefit from help.

PETA is nothing but a bunch of morons, I would not even pay attention to them at all for a second. Looking what they did in the past and still doing in the present time, they do more harm than anything good.

i honestly think about that at least once a day, and i genuinely just refuse to believe that it’s not satire at this point LOL.

they give vegans a bad name, id advise not giving them any attention or clicks. they’re the worst

this. say what you will about how inane peta and their articles are, obviously they work because people keep giving them clicks. as long as people keep clicking on their articles, even if it's just to have a laugh at them, they'll keep making bat takes like this.

Most likely just PETA using a popular game to promote their agenda.

What I want to know is how anyone who follows this "guide" is supposed to enjoy their museum if you arent supposed to catch fish and bugs.

I'm not vegan in the least bit but wouldnt this game actually be a safe way of experiencing something you are unable to, since nothing is actually being harmed?

The museum is protecting the bugs and fish from predators

I pretty much ignore/avoid anything PETA related; they don't actually care (and are frequently willfully ignorant) about animals at all and have no clue about what animals actually need to be healthy and happy. They actually cause more harm then they claim to want to prevent or abolish. They are, to a person, hypocrites who contribute nothing to society and so engage in harmful and destructive behavior by belittling and harassing other people in order to get attention and make themselves feel important by putting others down.

I think it’s hilarious but I also think it’s satire (well I would like to believe it is), that SOMEONE in PETA has a sense of humor. 😂

This. It's a video game. They're pixels. No real fish are being harmed in the game. I'm confused lol

As many in this thread already know, PETA is an extremely hypocritical organization and it's a well-known fact that they euthanize and kill many, MANY animals in their shelters. I'm pretty sure the person who started PETA legit hates dogs, so I'm pretty sure it's some evil corporation type of thing in an attempt to kill more animals. Terrifying stuff, I wish awful things upon all of their supporters and every person who is part of PETA.
Anyway, about the article, it's just stupid. Don't give them any ad revenue dollars though, sure you can yell obscenities at people preaching their views in person but you unfortunately can't do that on an article (unless it has a comments section but that doesn't nearly have the same effect)
