other people with chronic illnesses here?

Asperger, if you count that as one. Not fun at all and it's definitely not a superpower or asset in any way... mostly a hassle because authorities takes it so non-seriously also (like most of these when it comes to sick money and having a fair job).

I wouldn't say that Aspergers is a chronic illness since it can't be cured, but it is still a mental health problem and I agree that it's a hassle to deal with. Makes it really difficult to socially fit in with the rest of society. Also people don't seem to care and assume, for instance, that I'm just being childish when in reality that's just how my mind works. ://///

Mhm, true still you have to live with it all your life and while you can practice up some stuff most of the time it's not even worth it either because you still have so much crap going on :( Also chronic is basically stuff you can't really cure anyway so.

but sad authorities thinks so many people fake things :/

Yeah true, I know that chronic means you basically deal w it forever, don't know why I didn't think about that lol my mind has been a mush in school :p

And yeah like I've been working with a therapist/counselor for years to cope w it and I have made a lot of improvements but the bottom line is it's still something that I and many other have to deal with >__>

Yeahhh no worries dude very much mood.

And yeah I've been seeing people that have def helped with job and stuff but it's not that I can hop around jobs forever and basically never get any sick money/retirement money sooo yeah system. And while I've improved too social insurance is the worst ***** ever.

idk if youre just using words to describe that autism can be a problem to someones mental health or that autism itself is a mental disorder because the former is true. but there are key differences between mental disorders and developmental disorders (eg. asd, adhd) for anyone who cares developmental disorders start in childhood and are lifelong while mental disorders can happen to anyone and can either be chronic or temporary. the only reason why i care so much to correct wording like this is because people think its ok to call us mentally ill for being born a certain way, basically

i dont have any physical chronic illnesses but ive had to deal with vitamin d deficiency or iron deficiency anemia on and off for a few years now. i dont think my body is very good at absorbing the sun and ive never eaten well. it makes me extremely tired and weak which leads to social isolation and makes it even worse. i have to take blood tests and vitamins regularly

well those(asd's) are mental disorders either way and they can't be cured. sure adhd you can at least control better and it gives you a drive but yeah asperger is basically hell unless you find and keep a job within you special interest area.

I have had some form of IBS and overactive acid. It's been a reoccurring issue for years.

I would experience a nagging pain in my stomach and lower esophagus. I went for treatment and it disappeared for a year or so. Unfortunatly, due to stress, it recently returned in the form of an extremely painful ulcer. I took a medication to help repair it. The issue is inactive for the time being, but if it returns, I will have to go back on the medication for a 14-day treatment.

It's sort of discomforting to know that your own body attacked your stomach and made a hole. lol

that sounds painful. i’ve never dealt with overactive acid or ulcers but i’ve fought my own bouts of ibs and still am and it’s definitely not a fun time at all lmao

muscular dystrophy. it's better categorized as a terminal disease, being that it will kill you in time, but chronic in that it's progressive and life expectancy is not consistent. for example, i'm 27, one of the oldest living people with Duchennes' MD and while very limited, am healthy for what i am and live somewhat independently. whereas my younger brother died before 18 stuck in a hospital bed

i have cardiomyopathy and chronic pain i take pretty heavy narcotics for.
