Hey guys! For fun I decided to see if I could scale down some paintings by Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte! I was reasonably satisfied with the results so here they are for anyone else who is a fan of his work :) It was harder than I expected it to be. They look alright in a fancy frame, as a custom fabric for some furniture, and just hung on the wall. Any comments/criticism welcome!

Whoa these are really good. @_@; Do you plan to make any more or of any other artists' works?

Thank you! Yeah, I'd like to, I enjoy making them. Got any suggestions?

Oh wow I never realized until now, but there aren't very many surrealists like Magritte. Everyone follows in Dali's vein it seems.

Another from Magritte that would be interesting to see is The Thought Which Sees! Otherwise, meditative rose (Dali) and Nighthawks (Hopper). I tried to keep out of things that required too many colors but ahaha these are pretty demanding in any case. your skill with pixels is superb though, I love the shading on the pipe @_@;

It's true, a lot of the surrealist movement borrowed heavily from Dali. Some of Max Ernst's work does have a feeling that reminds me of Magritte (but still more of it reminds me of Dali).

Other than colours, the biggest limitation I've found when scaling down art is the square canvas. For pieces were the focus takes up the majority of the canvas (for instance, The Thought Which Sees), it's really tricky to decide which parts of the painting to exclude.

Having said that, I gave Meditative Rose a go! Didn't turn out so great, reds are difficult ;__; Some details were lost due to the low quality of AC screenshots, too.

Oh gosh that's really nicely done. Definitely going to hang it up in my library house once I get it set up @_@;

And yeah, I've tried to make graphic-tee esque things and it's just...difficult to keep it within the limits. It's probably contributing to why I think these are really high tier works. Thanks for doing one of my requests!

Haha, thanks! I'm just glad someone likes them~

I'll attempt your other two suggestions eventually as well, but I think they will be harder to pull off.
