Personal Preference Kit (Crews 1 & 2)

Uw9pLDc.jpg

I decided to go cosmic casual with my outfit, with the dreamy sweater, star hairclip, sweatpants and slippers.

I've brought with me:

-A lucky cat as a token of good fortune, because if I was suddenly in space I would honestly be pretty terrified and would want to stack the odds for a safe voyage in my favor.

-My Switch, so I can continue to get angry playing Pokemon Unite even after leaving the planet

-A coffee making set because I will shrivel and blow away without caffeine

-An axe to fight off aliens if they aren't friendly :alien:

-A small fan just in case the air conditioning in my cabin sucks

Wow I'd never thought I'd be going to space! Better dress up for the occasion with the most fitting space attire in my wardrobe! Now I can blend in with space itself.

I don't go anywhere without my Nintendo Switch and space sure isn't going to be an exception, there's sure to be times where there's nothing better to do while we are traveling to vast distances of space. Plus then we can play games together! I also brought along my Ring-Con to see how exercising works in space, I'm sure it would be funny! Space is also dark so I brought my own personal Nova Light to light up my personal quarters with themed lighting. I also brought a Magazine to read all about the nearby stars and planets, and maybe I'll be able to spot something cool! Speaking of spotting something cool, even though we are in space, the stars are still far away, so with a Telescope I'm sure to be able to see them more clearly!

@dizzy bone Is it okay to not include Harvey's Photo Studio? Still in the early part of the game and don't have access to him yet. T_T
Sure, If you are really early in the game you can use a regular room. Harvey’s is generally used to make things easier to find items and color combos but I’ll allow it!

Just an update - I will be looking through the recent entries soon! No internet last night 😭

Lol!!! we did not have Internet last night either. I was completely and totally mobile which I normally browse the site mobile anyways but I also meant certain stuff I couldn’t get done which was a bummer. We can blame this girl for the absence of Internet since she chewed the cord.

I've landed on a really cool planet! Right now I'm wearing a really chill outfit, just like the OP suggested, hehe. But no, seriously, it does get pretty cold on this planet. With me inside my makeshift cabin, I've got five essential items I've brought with me. The first is a telescope so that I can view the night sky better. It's even easier here since there's no atmospheric disturbances! Next I've got a metal can. There's nothing in there, but it's useful for storing items. I've also got a glowing moss boulder that I found nearby. Cause why not. It's useful for sitting on and contemplating the meaning of life. Next I've got a hand cart, which helps me a lot since I've started trying to grow crops here. And last but certainly not least, my extravehicular mobility unit, a tricycle! Inspired by -Blue-'s meme post, this baby goes at a whopping speed of 3 MPH. Perfect for when I want to waste time taking a scenic ride on the planet, and I say scenic generously because there's nothing to see here. And that's all!

Hi, I have a couple questions about the 5 items.

1) Would it be acceptable to use the selfie reaction and count my nook phone as one of my items?

2) Can I bring item x that looks like item y, and say for the purposes of this event this is item y (uh, as an unrelated example, I want to bring a skipping rope but don't have one, can I bring kite string and call it a skipping rope)?

I am trying to find an alternate to not having a certain type of item I would really want to bring and I don't have any of the items that would fit in my catalogue (or NSO to trade for them). ;u;
bumping this just because i can't see an answer for it, but i have the same question about items and uses! i have some really creative ideas for what items could stand for (gyroids, etc.) but i don't wanna just assume it's okay to extrapolate an alternate use before posting ! 😅

1.) Keep it to placeable items only please!
2.) Yes you can! This is why the explanation comes in handy :)

Hmm Space travel makes me really sleepy, I change into my light-weight breathable sleeping clothes, I need my glasses to see and I wear this hat to protect me from being mind-controlled by aliens.
I brought my foldable sleeping cot for a bed and my favorite teddy bear to sleep. I brought a fan to help me relax at night from the white noise and cool air. My noise-canceling headphones will help with sensory issues onboard the ship and let me listen to my Nintendo Switch I brought to keep me occupied.

Here is my space adventure kit! I definitely went for comfort instead of space aesthetic, but knowing me, it would be impossible to go on this trip if I don’t have my items. First off is my outfit. I choose a custom designed Denim jacket with a floral shirt underneath. It’s so cute and is my favorite shirt/jacket combo! Then, continuing with the denim theme I have a white denim skirt. Lastly, I have nude stockings and cream rubber high tops. For my items, I have a punic basket to help me make new friends through the power of food, a stuffie my mom made for me, a record to remind me of my (actual) mom, a board game to take up time and remind me of my (actual) dad, and my lucky star fragment. It’s good as a nightlight too.

Greetings fellow crewmates! Allow me to introduce myself. I am the ships Safety Officer, Tsundoku. I will be patrolling the ship throughout the night s and days ensuring all is well. Please come to me if you have concerns. No need to worry about my 24/7 responsibilities. I have packed all of the necessary equipment in my trust back pack for a safe journey. I have my safety helmet on and my Cyber Shades and power suit which protect me from harmful cosmic rays. For my personal needs I have brought along my favorite coffee and of course Brewster who will make me the perfect cuppa! And his peaceful coo’s will help me to get a quick nap when time allows. I have packed my Nook, inc. wetsuit and snorkel mask in the event I need to enter any liquid for inspections. And last but not least my beloved ACNH console in the hopes I will find time to enjoy a bit of game play. The console also allows other crew members to contact me via the console in emergencies. Let’s all have a safe trip!

Space Cadet dino reporting for duty!
1690564603168.png

dino, after careful review of the mission details and welcome manual, has decided on the following items that may or may not prove relevant to the journey ahead. especially now floating in space without a captain, marking way points like The Pikmin and The Lighted Lily constellations, dino wonders if these items were the right choice, instead of perhaps a book or two. 😵
nevertheless, in dino's quarters are:

  • NooklingTM terrarium meal pack with GMO artichokes and indigo milk cap mushrooms, edible & fast growing. 🍄
  • egg of questionable origins, discovered by dino shortly before take off. it only seems to wiggle more and more, the longer it is in space. 👀 it emits a strange, soothing light that helps dino wake up feeling energized
  • custom stelloid capable of xenolinguistic translation and other calculations. also plays hide-and-seek
  • cyber suit for space walking and planetary missions, with retractable helmet
  • star dust catcher. dino heard tale there was going to be some star dust floating around! ✨

cadet dino was extremely pleased to be placed with cabin actually, nevermind,
which has a delightful mint and mayhem theme.
accordingly, dino is wearing:
  • star boppers with controllable headlights for those space voids 🌟
  • HUD visor, connected to crew and ship comms, with recording capabilities and more
  • a tasty green mint snack, designed for space travel to prevent spaceship sickness 😷
  • a custom design retro-mint uniform jacket (space safe and inflatable for emergencies) over casual, work clothes
  • power boots by kicksTM for the best grav-grappling action and hard space work on treacherous terrain.
  • compression suit for those long voyages
  • a BTF mark23 issue standard jet pack 🔥

5 items space.jpg

Dressed for success! Or in this case, frequent cozy board-game nights. Out of place are the hardhat, tool belt, and goggles, but to that I say: who else do you see volunteering to do the repairs around this ship ? :p Some low-tech space goggles as well, just to protect against the radiation that *might* be leaking through our already protective windows. I'm packing board games with me for fun times at night, a phonograph because, initially I thought "it doesn't need batteries!", but it still does be an electrical music player unfortunately (no one can stop us from manually spinning the vinyl though). There's an oil lamp to keep the place smelling nice and fresh, an ice cream lamp for some vibe lighting (always important), and an empty suitcase to hold any space rocks and souvenirs I find while out!

Here's my corner of the cabin! I wanted to ensure that my stay was as cosy and as comfortable as possible, so I brought along a few things to make me feel at home. Firstly, there is of course my futon to sleep in. I also have a lantern, so I can read a book from my tiny library to relax before bed. My fellow crew mates are welcome to use this, too! I brought a photo of my friends from back home, as it's always nice to see a familiar face. Lastly, I have a microscope, to examine any extraterrestrial life I may encounter! Hopefully I'll discover something! I'm dressed head to toe in moons and stars and ready for an adventure!

For my trip, I'd want to have as many of the little comforts of home to pass the time as possible! I included a futon because I'd like to have some warm blankets to snuggle up in. I also brought along a pot for all my cooking needs while away from home. My favorite book so I can read my favorite stories under the stars (it may not look thick but we'll say its the compiled Lord of the Rings trilogy, the edition that comes all in one book haha). I couldn't go anywhere without my favorite music. And of course, my craft box! Filled with some sewing supplies as well as some knitting supplies to pass the time between trips :)

I've arrived at space camp with some essentials! 🌌

I brought a scrapbook to creatively display some memories, a DSLR camera to capture some great adventures, my Nintendo switch to have a blast beating the other crews playing with everyone, a telescope to gaze at the stars and my trusty puppy plush to keep me company ✨

I went with my galaxy uniform with star boppers for travelling into space! I am waiting at my local spaceship pick up spot!

I posted my items via SpaceEx Courier and I sent up my favourite pyjamas, some lovely incense burners, my dog plushie and my mini fridge 😌

All ready for my space adventure! I'm donned in standard issue space uniform and helmet. For my personal preference pack, I have prepared my favourite mug, textbooks to identify the various life forms and fauna I may encounter, a camera to snap photo evidence for my reasearch and a communication device in case of emergency. I also need my headphones for music and hopefully I can get a connection to Spotify here.

Question, am I allowed to decorate with items just for the surroundings? I wanted to add some rocks just for design purposes but I didn’t want to add them to my list of things to bring. :0

I'm sorry, this is not an acceptable entry! I need to see the actual items you sent via spaceex courier and an explanation of what you brought.

You may resubmit by posting in this thread again. Thank you

This isn't a designing activity so I wouldn't bother adding anything that isn't part of your 5 items!
