Nearing the end-game of Metroid Prime Remastered. I have almost all the upgrades, I think there may be just 1 or 2 more? Guess we'll see.

You're not the only one alone. Don't be like me and assume friendships are already established. I made that mistake in school a lot, because I'm pretty shy too, and I thought people didn't want to interact with me. But I'm learning to be more open to people. Just a few days ago I learned you have to invite yourself to these kinds of things and people will most likely naturally accept you.

You might be surprised that others will welcome you when you walk in and introduce yourself. You don't have to join the club if you don't want to. But it could be a chance for you to make new friends. At the very least you'll get to practice meeting new people. And if they do end up hating you (which is very unlikely) you'll prolly rarely see them again and they'll be long gone by the time you're out of that school.

I don't know if you wanted advice from a random stranger on an animal crossing forum, or if you just wanted to express the way you felt. But I feel you and wish you luck whichever way you choose. I believe In you😊

just expressing myself since this is the “place your random thoughts” thread and this is a random thought i happen to have, but thank you for your advice. you’re probably right, i know im being irrational and im overthinking stuff, im hyper vigilant as well but i guess that’s how my brain tries to make me “safe”

Yeah, thanks for putting up with my essay lol, nobody really asked for it. but I hope school is getting better for you soon anyway : )
 
I am now on the most annoying part of Metroid Prime: hunting down all 12 artifacts. I already have 5 though so I'm almost half way done.

This is really good advice! Throughout college I isolated myself a lot and just made assumptions about people wanting to be my friend (even though I had a few people tell me they thought I was cool or nice or whatever... missed opportunity). Recently I started putting myself out there with people from work, asking to do stuff with them or whatever. And they agreed and we had fun! Putting yourself out there is really hard; I was working on it prior to Covid with some schoolmates, but then Covid came along and kind of made me have to start from scratch. But it gets a lot easier, I promise!
 
I was watching a video last night of a timelapse of two guys working on a project (they were both sitting at the same table working on their laptops) and the narrator said "can you tell which one has ADHD?" and it's funny bc the one guy was sitting still and very focused on his work and this other guy is constantly twirling around and fidgeting in his chair. that's honestly the biggest mood of all time, I've never ever been able to sit still while working at my desk. i can't believe there are people out there who are physically able to just sit still and focus and do their work lol

even if the writing is meh honestly the movie is such eye candy for me it prob won't even matter, I whole-heartedly think watching it will make me feel like a kid again hehe
 
Texting people is very tricky. Some people want texts every day while others prefer it once every several days. Sometimes they seem to want to text even less. It’s hard to find a good middle ground.
 
I totally get what Midoryia and Alienfish are saying. The forum also does feel a bit less active these days. It also doesn't help that New Horizon really only got a year and half of support before Nintendo left it behind. And a lot of the support was very stretched thin. We're nearing the 3rd year soon and this would've been when NL got the Welcome Amiibo update.

My activity dips so much just because of my conflicting work schedule, but when I do have some spare time to come back I usually feel really out of touch with the forum. I really like the place, but just feels like I'm an outsider most times lol.
 
I gotta be real, every time I hear about that website Chicken Smoothie I feel like I wanna puke bc a chicken smoothie actually sounds disgusting haha. could they not have come up with a better name for it?
 
I'd like to know more about my ancestry but i don't know if sites like ancestry.com are accurate and I don't want to spend $100 or however much it is. if they tell me they can't find anything about my family's past it wouldn't even be worth it
 
Well, I did it. I beat Metroid Prime Remastered. This was quite the nostalgic trip for me. Now, Nintendo...do the smart thing and release Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Switch!
 
I just realized that the Peach collectible would've been perfect for my current aesthetic but I don't have one. 😭 Maybe I'll buy one (assuming there's anyone selling one 'cause they're sold out in the shop) as soon as I get the funds.
 
I read this one book during Christmas time called "Chicken Soup For The Soul" and I really enjoyed it! They were a collection of cute little feel good stories. HOW AM I JUST NOW SEEING THAT THIS CHICKEN SOUP THING IS A WHOLE SERIES OF MINI STORY BOOKS?!!?!??! IM ABOUT TO BUY ALL OF THE COLLECTIONS AND READ TIL I DIEEE 📔📕📖📗📘📙
