Place your random thoughts.

I've noticed some similarities between Animal Crossing Wild World and a certain other series.

- There are 150 villagers in the game, just like a different game, except there's no secret villager

- Villagers have exclamation makes appear over their heads when they have something important to tell you

- You catch living creatures to fill out an encyclopedia, which is necessary for 100% completion (or whatever you consider the Animal Crossing equivalent)

the search for things that will keep me hydrated + won't further irritate my throat when I'm sick has led me to drink some strange combinations. sparkling water + pickle juice is a go-to for me, but right now I'm having green tea with honey and red wine vinegar and idk maybe it's the sickness talking but it's kinda good??

I have a book about shoes and when I got to the part about Chinese lotus shoes for women with bound feet I was fascinated, as the shoes were “actual size” (3 inches) in the book. When I went to a museum with lotus shoes next to average women-sized shoes, I was shocked. I couldn’t believe how women walked in those! And of course, I had also read The Good Earth, so I had a general idea of how small they would be. (one character’s foot was described as being the size of a man’s middle finger.)
I can’t imagine how much my feet would hurt from that, especially since they started binding the feet at a young age. It was kind of a sexist practice, as it restricted how far women could walk or be away from the home. I’m glad nobody does it now, but it’s still interesting to read about.

What country am I currently thinking of? I’ll give you three hints:

1. It’s a very tropical country.
2. There are deserts in the north (with cacti).
3. Papayas are domestic to this nation.

legit almost cried over the matpat news, at least it's better for him.
This is really sad. CaptainSparklez is retiring, StampyLongHead is ending his series, and now MatPat is leaving. I hope he's going to be doing better in retirement. I know they all have their reasons, but it's still sad to see so many classic YouTubers leaving.

Have you tried boiled water with 1tbsp of lemon juice and 1tbsp of honey? This is my go-to when sick.

I just saw that Matpat from Game Theory on YouTube is quitting. One of the things that some YouTubers have done way too often is clickbait their audience. They always post titles like "I'm Quitting" or "Goodbye YouTube" and most times people get fooled which is why most are skeptical. You cannot tell if they are being honest or lying. Around the 2010s this was a common tatic that some YouTubers do for clickbait to get views to fool their audience into thinking they are leaving but they are not. However, when they are telling the truth and they really are leaving its hard for the community to accept it. In a way they are growing up and they are realizing that they cannot keep doing this forever. It is understandable why they would want to quit becuase they want to explore more things in life that will make them happy.

Yep! Unfortunately we're now out of lemon juice (though hopefully we should get more today!), so it was time to get ~creative~ again ;w;

Fun fact: the Family Guy intro is based on the All in the Family theme song. However, since that show ended in 1979, the Family Guy parody is a lot more well known, and this phenomenon is otherwise known as Parody Displacement. Here they are, right next to each other.

Even the lyrics are basically saying the same thing. Another thing I noticed is that Peter sounds almost exactly like Archie Bunker, and Lois sounds similar to Edith Bunker (the people in the All in the Family theme song), which I think is definitely on purpose.

Fun fact 2: Eric Cartman's personality was also inspired by Archie. See, the difference is that Archie becomes less bigoted as the series goes on. Cartman kind of went the opposite direction. Plus, Cartman can get away with a lot more because his show has a higher age rating. Still, that was the 1970s. I don't think a character as sociopathic and twisted as Cartman would have been socially acceptable then.

Fun fact 3: I've never even actually watched All in the Family before. This is all just random trivia.

this song is so catchy, I've had it stuck in my head for 2 months HELP (also my random thought was posting it here, so here ya go!)

it’s gonna be so cold the week i go back to school 😭 currently planning outfits in my head bc i don’t really have anything suited for this type of cold

It rained a lot last night, so almost all the snow in my area is gone now. It’s weird, because my school's area still has a lot of snow (either because it snowed more or rained less), so going on the highway from there, you just find a point where there's almost no snow anymore.

the weather's gonna be HORRENDOUS for me end of this week and beginning of next. High of 15, Low of -2? DURING A SCHOOL WEEK? no thank you!
