on another note: i got these limited time sprite flavored tic tac mints. and eeeww these things are gross. yet here I am eating them anyways because I need my snacks.

Holy heck, they are worse than piranhas during a feeding frenzy 😂 any chance they get they will start off with a quick nibble or two, just a little taste of the hapless, then SWARM!! until nothing remains.... It's pathetic omg lol
 
There was an earthquake earlier today. This is the first time I’ve ever actually experienced one, and apparently it was 4.8 magnitude. But I somehow just did not feel anything. Like, I just didn’t feel any shaking. I think most people did. I wonder if anything at my house broke because of it.

Now I’m kind of scared, but considering that I felt almost nothing, maybe it’s not that big of a deal.

Update: I was right. Nothing happened. I don’t think anything fell at all.

Trying to follow all of these weather and cloud cover forecasts for the eclipse is going to drive me crazy... if it hasn't already! My secondary viewing location, which was looking really good just a few days ago, now looks to be just as bad as my primary location. At this point I'm likely just going to cancel my flight and hotel to my secondary location (which will free up a spot to anyone hoping to take that flight as their primary location connecting through the local airport) and just let the dice land as they may. The money freed up from the cancellation can be put toward the 2027 eclipse that goes through Spain and Northern Africa. I mean, I've already waited 19 years to see an eclipse, what's another 3 on top of that?

Edit: I ended up canceling the flight, if the viewing chances are the same in both locations I may as well free up that seat for someone else that wants an opportunity to see the eclipse. And given that they were sending out emails asking for volunteers to change flights, they definitely overbooked that flight. And if it happens to be clear up there, at least I'll be able to make someone's day by allowing them to get a seat on this plane to see it!

You know, I was thinking that the post-apocalyptic genre of stories really shines through when it isn't portrayed as the usual "literal dead people walking" trope.

Splatoon and Shin Megami Tensei are my favorite portrayals/interpretations of a post-apocalypse setting.

Apparently my mom felt that but me and my stepfather didn't. Pretty weird considering we're all in the same house.

(Drag Race) I can’t tell if the LaLaPaRuZa lip sync tournament next week will be the reunion, or if the reunion will be after that, and then the finale.
(I wish they did the reunion after the finale)
Also, I wished the final four contestants got to address their younger selves (with the childhood photos) like they used to.
