I didn’t know until today because I’ve never tried it do it before, but Xbox lets you change your gamer tag for free… once. After the first time you have to pay for it. I thought that when they said that, they meant if you wanted to do it again it would cost $1, $2, maybe $5 at most, but it costs TEN DOLLARS. Ten bucks just to change your name is crazy but idk… maybe I’m just stupid and there’s some good reason that it’s that expensive. Either way I guess I’m living with my new name (luckily it’s not anything super cringe that I would regret having).

it's about 15 dollars to change your username on roblox, and you don't even get an option to change it for free.. despite that I've changed it twice lol the price is crazy when you think about it though

I prefer Paper Mario 64 over Thousand Year Door.

The battle system is better in Thousand Year Door. (being able to have over 30 BP and the audience system). The level design is worse though. Many of the chapters and towns are just a straight path and have you going back and fourth.

The chapter design in Paper Mario 64 usually provides a small open hub world with an ongoing scenario. (then follows with a dungeon). I also prefer the traditional Mario story of Bowser being the main villain and setting of the levels. (grassland chapter, desert chapter, etc)

Thousand Year Door usually gets all the attention, but 64 is my all time favorite game and it's the one I go back and play more frequently.

When I think about the vocabulary I know, it feels limited, and like I don't know enough words to maintain a decent conversation without relying on the same, recycled words over and over again.

There is apparently a dog saint! St. Guinefort, the patron saint of infants, was a French greyhound! According to legend, he was a loyal pet of a knight. However, the killed him when he assumed he killed his son, who was actually bitten by a snake. When the knight realized the truth, he buried Guinefort in a well and built a shrine around it.

Villagers began to gather around the shrine, especially when they had sick children. The rest is history,

However, one guy argued that making a dog a saint is heretical, but I prefer it over not having a dog saint. I used to listen to a Christian radio station until the host said that animals don’t have souls.

Whether Guinefort’s story is true or not, it’s definitely interesting and cool to see a dog receive such an honor.

What Disney movie would be a better movie to watch? Wish, or The Black Cauldron?

I would rather watch the one movie that failed so badly to where it nearly obliterated Disney’s animation branch than some homage movie with no imagination. Even though The Black Cauldron failed, at least it focused less on other movies and had a better plot.

Should I know what that is?
National Novel Writing Month. It is a challenge to write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. It's been around since 1999!

I've been participating annually since 2006 and volunteered with them 2017-2023.

If you fancy a good headache Google the NaNoWriMo 2023 controversy.

Now that I'm caught up in all my gacha games with events and everything, trying to decide what to focus my playtime on next. I'm shifting between ACNH, Pokemon Violet Wonderlocke, or working on my Switch backlog finally and try to finish Fire Emblem Engage (yes, I'm still stuck on the DLC's final boss after all this time 💀 ).

For now I think I'll play some AC because I was looking at getting back into that not too long ago. It'll be difficult to decide what avenue I want to take long-term though. I need to have something I'm playing or doing that isn't gacha though so I don't get burned out.

Film enjoyment is subjective so sometimes you just gotta jump into something and see if it sticks for you personally.

That said, I think the criticisms against The Black Cauldron are correct. It just isn't good.

There's very little world building and characters are suddenly placed and dropped in and out of the movie through the whole thing. Apparently being forced to delete multiple scenes before release really damaged the plot of the movie. As you aren't given any context for certain things.

The animation is good though. I just felt like it was a chore to sit through. Maybe I'll try and give it another go myself.

If I were to run for president someday and win, I think I'd just be a one term president. I don't really see myself getting reelected, tbh.
Running for president is a very hard task anyway. Aside to the official requirements (i.e. minimum age is 35), it would be hard for others to take you seriously had you not held a lower-level office like representative, senator, or governor (or at least serve the military). You’ll also need to get past the primaries and caucuses before you can be an official candidate, which last at least a whole year before the year of the presidential election (heck, this applies to all political offices). Then you’ll have to worry about getting 270 electoral votes. And this is not even going into the fact that you’ll have to be watching after over 300 million or ruling the most powerful nation in the world.

I will say though, although Disney doesn’t hate this movie anymore than they do with Song of the South (you can find The Black Cauldron on Disney+), they refused to acknowledge it as part of their animation canon. To be honest, there are already a few movies that are an insult to their animated legacy (like the aforementioned Wish and stuff like Home on the Range and Ralph Breaks the Internet), and even so, none of these movies came out during the 20th century. I don’t even think any of the sequels of the WDAS films (except The Rescuers Down Under, Winnie the Pooh, and Fantasia 2000) should be recognized as part of their animated legacy. Ralph Breaks the Internet deserves a special mention due to being a crossover of the previous films. So even if The Black Cauldron isn’t any good, it’s still better than a handful of movies released after 2000.

@Alolan_Apples

I wouldn't agree that it's not fully acknowledged. Once Upon a Studio was a tribute to animated disney, and The Black Cauldron characters received a cameo appearance.

Disney probably doesn't see Black Cauldron as marketable (a flopped mid 80's film isn't gonna sell crazy merchandise) but placing them with Snow White and Mulan was basically the closest thing to them saying 'hey, black cauldron exists too'.

And it's worth noting that Song of the South did not receive an appearance in this. (from what I can recall, anyways).

I still remember the days I wanted to be a hand model. 😆 I remember reading about it, and it’s a lot tougher than you would think. No uneven nails. No broken nails. No cuts. No hangnails. No blisters. No dry skin. It’s like you can’t do anything, or have to wear gloves all the time.

I think it’s especially tough because you use your hands all the time. And for them to be expected to remain pristine…! It’s unnatural, to say the least.
