I showed my mom these two creepy cartoons called Angela Anaconda and dirtgirlworld and had her compare the two to see which is creepier, and she told me that Angela Anaconda looks like Alfred E. Neuman from M.A.D.

Now I can't unsee the resemblance... :LOL:

With most issues I can understand or at least see where both sides are coming from, but I don’t get how anyone still thinks climate change isn’t an important issue or doesn’t even exist. Maybe before when not as many people were aware of it that would make sense, but this is 2024, and it was 80 degrees on Halloween. Clearly there’s an issue. And even if you don’t think it’s an issue now, it definitely will be in the future whenever all the ice caps melt, and people will be alive to deal with that. It’s just such a dumb argument.

Up where I am in Canada, Halloween always has a very cold rain (usually) or sometimes snow flurries. This year was warm with no precipitation, so it was nice to see kids in their costumes without having to have coats and boots cover them up…but I was definitely thinking I’d never seen that before.
Now a week later, I can still wear shorts and a tee outside, which again is unheard of for this part of the country at this time of year.

I’m glad that we Texans aren’t alone with dealing with a warmer fall. I hope the earth cools down within my lifetime.
 
I watched Nelly’s (from Bake Off) newest video on Instagram where she talked about the story behind her shoe pastry from the first showstopper challenge. 👞(She mentioned wearing big shoes but not the full story.)

When she was a girl, she had to wear boys’ shoes because her feet were larger than average. She said she wished she got to wear prettier shoes, but since she lived in Slovakia, there weren’t many options. She also said she was bullied in school for being big and living on a farm.🥺

I was like…who would bully Nelly?! This season’s funny, quotable icon? I got bullied in school so I could definitely relate. There are always mean kids out there, no matter what. It’s like that Dita von Teese quote about being the ripest, juiciest peach but there’s always someone who doesn’t like peaches. Still, there’s no need to hurt someone’s feelings.

I was thinking one of the bullies could be Melania Trump, but remembered she’s from Slovenia, not Slovakia. 😅

Nelly said her grandma was her best friend, so that was a bright spot in her life. Even though, she said, her grandma let her buy smaller prettier shoes that hurt her feet. But in the end, she learned that personality matters more than fashion or looks.

Nelly’s story videos are interesting, and I love her positive take on life. I can’t wait to hear the story of how she met her husband at a kebab shop. Bake Off is definitely not the same without her.

Mmmm....hard cider. Yeah the candy corn-flavored ones were all out though thankfully, the other flavor I wanted, cider donut, wasn't! Got that, and a 4-pk. of orange creamiscle-flavored ones. They're pretty dang good! 😋
 
I’m still paying attention to election results since not all of the races have been called.

Meanwhile, I know I talked about it all year, but when is DK64 coming to NSO? I’m more hopeful now since Banjo-Tooie was added.
 
I wonder if I should order a bunch of the pocket camp items just in case it disappears from our nook shopping. 🤔 I really hope it doesn’t
