The Ottoman sultan Ibrahim had a concubine called Sugar Cube. (Or what roughly translates to that) We don’t know much about her, except that she was named Maria and came from a wealthy Armenian family.

Ibrahim ordered his servants to find the “fattest woman” in Constantinople, which is how they discovered her. She was only 17 when they took her, which is just…terrible. Her life was fine before, but to be kidnapped for some king, never to see your family again? Poor girl.

Sugar Cube quickly became Ibrahim’s favorite. However, she got into hot water when she spread rumors about other concubines cheating on Ibrahim. This led to Ibrahim getting angry, torturing, and murdering his concubines. It’s thought that Kosem Sultan (Ibrahim’s mother) killed Sugar Cube for this. However dishonorable Suge may have been considered, she is still interred at the Ibrahim I Mausoleum in Hagia Sophia.

Although Sugar Cube was indirectly responsible for other women dying, she was still very young and thought she was doing the right thing. Ibrahim didn’t treat women the best (surprise, surprise), and his mother even let one of his concubines (that he tried to assault) escape the palace.

I know it sounds crazy, but this era of Ottoman history is fascinating to be.
 
Seeing Twilight Sparkle without her alicorn wings feels so weird to me. She spent most of MLP:FiM as an alicorn and only the first 3 seasons as a unicorn. Mind you, I only started watching the show shortly after the season 3 finale.
 
This is the first time in years that I'll alone on New Years. My family is usually here though January, but they came early in November instead so didn't stay.

I don't even think I turned on the celebration last year. I was playing Dragon Quest 2 on the switch and felt indifferent.
 
I found a fascinating DVD for sale at the library that was called “La Cage Live!” or “An Evening at La Cage”. I looked at it and it was a recording of a famous Las Vegas drag performance from 2006. The main performer impersonated Joan Rivers, while others were Cher, Britney Spears, and many others. Honestly, it looked like it would be fun to watch!

I tried to search it online, but the exact performance is hard to find. I found out that the main performer is named Frank Marino and has a Wikipedia page. He is considered “Ms. Las Vegas” and the “world’s most successful tribute artist.”

I also found that the show officially ended in 2009. It started in 1985, so it was around for a while. I wonder who owned the DVD and why they decided to donate it— it looked pretty cool!

that's pretty much how I was last year. spent time in my own company, playing island flyover on Wii Sports Resort. I managed to collect all 80 i-points in like two and a half hours 😌 and I only knew that the new year had come bc I started hearing fireworks outside lol.

Sounds like a great way to kick the New Years in. Tbh I look forward to Christmas and New Years because I take a week off of work and all of the possibilities of things I can get into. Play some games, draw, cook, work on my projects in my basement. I just really look forward to it lol. For New Years I made a big cheese ball and my plan is to eat that with crackers and maybe watch some TV or play some game while eating it 😆
 
I Googled why Prime video now has commercials, and found this. Now, my brain doesn't process numbers or math very well, so this was so confusing to me😆

Do free trial users pay an extra penny to upgrade? Or $3 to upgrade, but members  only pay $2.99 upgrade? My brain isnt understanding the penny difference. I am sure one of you who is much smarter than me could explain, but for now, I am befuddled.

So I was looking back at my older posts on this thread. I found a couple rants about Mollycord. I usually forget what I post until I look back, but boy, I must’ve hated the server a lot. I no longer think about it every day. While I still think the server is biased and unjust, and that the mods on the server are immature and abusive, I did a good job not focusing on it too much. And now, I can’t even get interested into TGAMM.

I’m not going back to delete my posts about Mollycord since I don’t like deleting my old posts.
