I got smashed in online chess today. Then I got a message from chess.com that the person cheated.

...I'll never understand why people do this.

Where's the fun in winning if a computer program is picking moves for you.

I'd rather lose honorably.

You know how the first day of the year doesn't feel any different compared to the days leading up to it?

As time passes, the new year begins to grow distinct from the other years. At least, that's what I've been feeling for a long while.
It works for decades too. The year 2010 still felt like the 2000’s, and 2011 was a little bit like the 2000’s, but from 2012 and on, the 2010’s was more like the 2010’s instead of the 2000’s.

"Why do I recall hearing about domestic abuse recently"?

Uh...

Never mind. I was reading a Batman comic book this morning where Scarecrow is terrorizing a domestic abuser. My brain forgot I read the comic but remembered the subject matter of the comic.

I just realized that the Animal Crossing-themed New Year's Nintendo 3DS theme is 10-years-old now!

I watched a video about historic royals you are most likely to be related to and this one Moroccan Sultan (Ismail Ibn Sharif) had at least 800 kids. Some reports even claim his 1171st child was born in 1704, but we don’t know the exact number.

I know it was because he had concubines and all…but wouldn’t that be weird? To have all these half-siblings you don’t even know? I guess nowadays you could have that many kids through a sperm bank, but back then…wow.

Despite not watching much American football since I don't like it, the Kansas City Chiefs will forever be known to me as the Kansas City "Chefs." I'll never forget the day years ago when I was looking at an old sports video, and in the comments someone typo'd and called them that. Absolute gold to be honest. 👌 😂

Balatro is a lot of fun, but starting over from stratch is a bit meh. Slay the Spire really does it well with new run rewards.

If you want to know how much time has passed, here are some facts:
  • Five years ago takes you to the beginning of the pandemic. Many of the changes that happened over the last five years has yet to happen at this time of the year in 2020. This was also before Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out, and before this site switched to Xenforo.
  • Ten years ago takes you to 2015, when Obama was in the last two years of his presidency. I also remember that it was a big year for both Star Wars and Back to the Future. Nintendo’s main console at the time was the failing Wii U system. Despite 2015 being the Wii U at its worst, it was when Splatoon first came out.
  • Fifteen years ago takes you to 2010, when social media and smartphones started to rise in dominance. But phones and social media used to be a whole lot different than they are now (for example, iPhones had a more classic design than a basic design first introduced by iOS 7). Nintendo’s main console at the time was the Wii.
  • Twenty years ago takes you to 2005. Many of us wouldn’t have been born back then, or at the very least were children. Flip phones were common while iPhones didn't exist, Windows XP was the main Windows operating system, Nintendo’s main console at the time was the GameCube, and traditional forum sites used to be more popular.
  • Twenty-five years ago takes you to 2000. VHS was still common, internet was restrictive, Nintendo’s main console was the Nintendo 64, and Windows 98 was the main Windows operating system (at least at this time of the year).

Reminds me of those memes where people called the Seattle Krakens the Seattle “Karens.” 😂

I'm so relieved because I finally learned how to turn off "AI Overview" on Google lol

the straw that broke the camel's back for me was when I typed in the phrase "omnisexual cat" to find some omni pride pics, and the AI Overview came up and said "There isn't much that's known about omnisexual cats, but here's some information: *proceeds to talk about intersex cats*" like bruh seriously 😭😭

I was thinking about joining a Smash Bros Ultimate and/or Mario Party Jamboree game session. The only problem is that:

1. I work 4 days a week (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), and my work hours last from 8am-2pm. Whenever I come home from work, I would feel really tired from working all day and

2. I don't have a consistent sleep schedule. My sleep schedule's been like this since forever. I do, however, go to bed early when I have work the next day.

But hopefully, I'll be able to play Nintendo Switch games with other TBT users in this forum. 😊
