amiibo Festival Please stop with the overly negative posts || Why community negativity will hurt AC

To be honest, I feel that everyone has a right to express their disappointment. Everyone was expecting one thing, and got something completely different.

I don't believe that negative comments will hurt the overall franchise, either. AC:NL is still popular as ever (some people are just now buying it, even), Animal Crossing has been around since, what, the Game Cube, right? That's a long time.

Many games have a flop. Elder Scrolls Online didn't ruin the Skyrim franchise, for example. There have been many games (often spin-offs) which were released for a particular franchise and bombed. Despite the negative reception for those titles, old and new fans still enjoy the rest of the franchise.

not if you can get both

but tbh you're gonna complain anyway

No, I wouldn't be complaining if I was a satisfied consumer. That's very assumptious of you to say, but whatever.

I have been a lifelong Nintendo customer, and I love Nintendo franchises. I don't see Nintendo caring about the customer, I see them making crappy little cash grabs and horribly transparent attempts to make people buy Amiibo. We all know that another spin-off of AC is a lazy cash-grab and an Amiibo-pedalling device.

I may end up buying these games even, but I'd rather have AC Wii U one hundred times over, and as a consumer and someone that bought their failing system it is my right and obligation to tell them that.

gg if we dont get a game announced the community is sad?
if we get this spinoff the community is sad? wat

I'm actually pretty content with how things panned out. After the Splatoon release, I understood a huge announcement like that wouldn't be happening, so I wasn't expecting any AC announcements at all and this was a nice surprise. Plus, I love board game style titles, like Mario Party. I know I'm like the only person to think this, but I'll get the game and a few amiibos too. I love to support Nintendo's projects as long as they aren't too atrocious, and I think I'll enjoy this game.

Couldn't have said it better myself :)

I haven't been joining in on overly negative posts, I don't think I've even said anything about this game yet. I think it looks adorable and everything, but I have one huge problem with it.

If it's going to solely rely on players to have the amiibo to play the game, we're all screwed. Have you guys seen how quickly new amiibo sell out?! I know you have. I waited 2 hours in a GameStop while the servers were crashing just to get in a preorder for Ness. If Nintendo wants to base this game on new amiibo, they better supply us with millions of them. Not just like 30 stock per store, cause that crap just doesn't cut it.

This is exactly what I'm worrying about :/ I'd have to preorder the amiibo the first chance possible since Nintendo works on supply-and-demand and not made-to-order (the latter would be pretty weird since I don't imagine lots of people preordering amiibo)

all the people saying they hate this game, we all know you're gonna buy it anyway
I haven't really bought any party games in a good while, and this isn't really speaking to me either. Maybe if they release a more classic-like Mario Party with some online play for once, I'll get back into them. But alas, I don't see that happening ever as Nintendo is driven to kill the series. Oh weeeeeell.

I support the AC franchise...and I am looking forward to buying every card and every Amiibo figure...out of support, if nothing else.

so true, I mean same thing always happens with new gen Pokemon games so many people just seem to complain about every small thing and say that the game will be bad because "insert reason here", but yet half those people end up getting the game and enjoying it.

but that being said why judge a game that hasn't even come out yet?, hell for all you guys know the game might end up being fun.

While I don't 'hate' the new game that is coming out it is disappointing. I'm totally fine with Happy Home Designer, but unless they release more information about Amiibo Festival I won't be playing too often. Happy Home Designer is a fabulous spin-off game where the main focus is still centralized around the animals and contains other elements of the game.

However, Amiibo Festival contains little content related to the game and is Mario Party: Animal Crossing edition.

Trust me, Nintendo has enough money to where it isn't going to hurt the franchise. From the votes at E3 it appears that Japan didn't like it much, either.

No.

It's lackluster games like this that hurt Nintendo as a company (and Wii U as console). They're doing it to themselves. We're just letting them know.

I'd probably be more cross if HDD wasn't announced as well. But eh, still might get AF if it's cheap an practical.

I don't see why people hate it, sure you need to buy the amiibo but besides that its good to me. I think of this game as a successor to the original Mario Parties (ever since Mario Party 9 the series has been destroyed to me) plus the game is free and I get a Tom Nook amiibo, I'm happy...

I'll be honest when i saw this at e3 I was extremely disappointed. I still am and I probably wont buy this game, but i think its refreshing to see two new animal crossing spinoffs. This just means that its becoming really integrated into the Nintendo lineup and we'll all be able to enjoy animal crossing for many years to come.

It isn't really fair to say it's a bad game if it hasn't even been released yet. If a person didn't play it, how can he or she say it's good or bad? It's just a trailer; they won't show everything. Perhaps if someone actually played the game when it's released, he or she will discover more and may actually like it. I wasn't exactly thrilled when I saw the trailer. I don't even have a Wii U anyway LOL. Basically, people are upset because expectations have been shot way down. They wanted an Animal Crossing for the Wii U, and they got it. It's just not the Animal Crossing they expected.
