The reason for this is because I was entirely unprepared for my win there, as I had originally actually gone and challenged him just to scout his Pokémon, as mentioned here. But, the problem with that? Well, his Voltorb used a certain move, and thus I spotted a chance at winning, and then took advantage of it.)
I feel a bit happy right now, so I head into the MAUVILLE GYM to get my second BADGE.
OH NO THE GYM LEADER HAS SET UP THESE TRAPS FOR LITTLE 'UNS LIKE ME

I step on the lightning bolt raised out of the ground, and the color of the electricity around me changes location and color.
I decide to face the TRAINER standing over there.
She has a METITITE, which I end up facing with A and then beating, but with barely any HP remaining for it.
I step on the switch to the east of her.
The electricity changes back to the previous color.
I weave my way through to the next switch.
I step on it, and the gateway to the GYM LEADER opens, and I face the TRAINER in front of the gate with KFC.
"I train under WATTSON!"
Okay. Let's see how good you are.
His VOLTORB makes KFC faint.
I send out bruh, and then get NATURE POWER to turn into SWIFT to make the VOLTORB faint.
So SHAWN sends out another VOLTORB, which bruh and Luffy team up to take it out.
And then he sends out his last VOLTORB, which Luffy almost takes out, but Diamond ends up making it faint with NIGHT SHADE.

I'M TRAPPED NOOOOOOO
And so I realize that I have two options.
Fight my way out with Diamond and A to heal my POKéMON, or
Beat WATTSON with A and Diamond.
I choose the former, because there is NO WAY in the POKéMON-infested world that I am going to beat WATTSON with Diamond.
So I go and beat YOUNGSTER BEN's ZIGZAGOON with Diamond, and...
GUITARIST KIRK has 2 POKéMON.

I begin by telling Diamond to use NIGHT SHADE for the next ten turns.
His ELECTRIKE paralyzes Diamond, but Diamond still ends up coming out on top.
Then KIRK sends out a MAGNEMITE, which I then order Diamond to continue using NIGHT SHADE on.
Diamond also levels up. To LEVEL 20.
I continue out of the doors.
I go to the POKéMON CENTER to get the NURSE to heal my POKéMON.
I try to get out of the CENTER before the NURSE says...
"We hope to see you again!"

I go back into WATTSON's GYM.
Even though I don't expect to win, I just challenge him so I can see which POKéMON he has.
He laughs at me.
I AM NOT THAT PATHETIC
That's it, my PARTY better try really hard here.
I send out Diamond. He sends out a MAGNEMITE.
I tell Diamond to use NIGHT SHADE over and over, and the MAGNEMITE faints.
After WATTSON used a SUPER POTION.
WATTSON sends out a VOLTORB.
I send out KFC.
I decide to switch out to Diamond, however, and the VOLTORB uses SELFDESTRUCT, causing it to faint.
Nothing is done to the GHOST-TYPE Diamond.
I start laughing.
But then he sends out a MAGNETON.
Something is wrong here...
I keep Diamond out, figuring NIGHT SHADE will be my best option.
It SHOCK WAVEs me.
I'm left with four HP left.
That's what was wrong.
Oh, crap.
Well.
We might have a problem here.
So I switch out to KFC.
KFC gets turned into, well, Kentucky Fried Grovyle.
I switch out to Luffy. I use Luffy's turn to use a SUPER POTION on Diamond, as, well, NIGHT SHADE is be my best bet, right?
After Luffy gets fried, I send out Diamond and the MAGNETON of WATTSON's uses SUPERSONIC on Diamond.
But it misses.
Diamond used NIGHT SHADE, and the turn ends.
This turn, the SHOCK WAVE hits, but Diamond doesn't faint. THIS MIGHT ACTUALLY WORK LIKE HOLY COW
NIGHT SHADE is used again.
AND THE MAGNETON FAINTS
Diamond levels to LEVEL 21.
I start glowing.
Like, literally glowing.
WATTSON gives me the DYNAMO BADGE, and then gives me the TM for SHOCK WAVE.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS
I walk out of the GYM with a new sense of SWAGGER. Diamond is currently LEVEL 21, and my best POKéMON by far.
I heal my POKéMON at the POKéMON CENTER.
I cringe a little bit.

HOLY COW EVERYONE, I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LACK OF COVERAGE ON THE WATTSON BATTLE
I WAS JUST ABOUT DYING MYSELF DURING THAT HOLY COW
