After healing my POKéMON, I decide to go talk to the STORYTELLER again.
He tells me of my own story, saying that I am the ultimate evolver of POKéMON.
HOW STONED IS HE LIKE HAS HE NEVER EVER HEARD OF A PERSON WHO HAS EVOLVED MORE POKéMON THEN ME I CAN EVEN THINK OF ONE
I walk out of the POKéMON CENTER and head north again.
I tell A to SMASH the ROCKS in my way.
I decide to ignore the TV REPORTERS over there.
Not like I could have myself featured on a TV Special or anything if I talk to them.
Yeah, that'd never happen.
This guy challenges me to a BATTLE, which I really do not want right now.
He doesn't introduce himself, but I know his name is TRAVIS.
What a nice name, TRAVIS.
He sends out a SANDSHREW while I send out Wally.
CONFUSION makes it faint in two uses.
HAHAHAHAA
HOW WEAK CAN YOU POSSIBLY BE TRAVIS WALLY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO TRY
He says that his POKéMON lost its pep while battling me.
What pep was there in the first place? That POKéMON sure as heck wasn't peppy, or else it would not have used DEFENSE CURL at all.
I run into a MACHOP right here, and Wally makes it faint with two CONFUSIONS.
That's good.
Real good.
So I head up the naturally carved stairs.
I have to make a hard decision here.
Go north and have to face a HIKER, or go through the cave and avoid the HIKER I've already faced?
I go into the cave, the decision obvious to me.
The steam does this weird dance thing over and over and over and over.
It creeps me out....
I try to step on it to stop it, but nothing happens except for an influx of warmth in my body.
And the steam is still escaping.
THIS IS SO CREEPY MAKE IT STOP
I try to ignore the other steam areas.
Finally! The exit is in sight!
I'm right in front of the exit when a NUMEL appears.
Nevermind, that was a waste of Wally's destructive power.
Even if Wally leveled up to LEVEL 19.
I exit the FIERY PATH onto ROUTE 12, and FIERY PATH was apparently the name of the cave which I just so enduringly walked through.
I ignore the weird BERRY-bearing trees over to my left and continue onto ROUTE 111 above the DESERT.
The dotted line is where I estimate Fiery Path to be, but either way, it gets me to where I am...
This guy just sits there and stares at the TREE in front of him.
Why would he do that? There's just no reason for it. Is he a friend of the STORYTELLER's?
I poke him.
GAH
YOU PEOPLE NEED TO STOP HAVING SUDDEN REACTIONS AND SCARING TEN-YEAR-OLDS LIKE ME HOLY COW
Yup, a friend of the STORYTELLER's.
He offers me a TM, which I take.
It's TM43, SECRET POWER.
He starts rambling about this thing called a SECRET BASE.
Okay?
He walks off.
I decide to just put the TM away and move on.
