I use the ESCAPE ROPE because I'm too lazy to walk out of GRANITE CAVE from where I am.
I continue south-east to DEWFORD TOWN, and notice the GYM there.
I heal my POKéMON at the POKéMON CENTER (cringing at the NURSE's words like what kind of sick person are they?)
I decide to skip the GYM, however, because I don't think my POKéMON are well-prepared for it.

I command MR. BRINEY to take me to SLATEPORT, and we just about run over seven people with his BOAT on our way to SLATEPORT.
No big deal, right?
He runs into the shore at half speed.
That can't possibly be good for the boat.
He tells me I should probably be off to deliver the DEVON GOODS.
So I head off.
I find the SEASHORE HOUSE on the BEACH a little north of where we were beached, and talk to the girl outside of the shack.
That's a nice little rhyme. Even though it doesn't quite make sense, I head in.
All these people look like they're having fun.
I make my way to the guy that looks like he might be the manager of the place, making sure to avoid the people's eyes while I head there.

He tells me that if I can give him a "hot POKéMON BATTLE," then he'll reward me.
I walk out the door and try to get the bad memory out of my mind.
I walk onto the white brick roads of SLATEPORT, and then look at my feet at the materials used for this path.

I walk into the nearest building I see, trying to remain calm.
wHO SWITCHES THE TYPE OF BRICKS USED IN THE MIDDLE OF CONSTRUCTION
The guy talks about his HASTY-NATURED POKéMON, and how speedy it is.
The girl talks about CONTEST PASSES, and how easy they are to get,
I walk out of the building, and decide to head north to go farther into SLATEPORT.
I see the weirdest looking building, and decide to talk to the old woman right outside of it.
She doesn't say anything helpful, just how SLATEPORT was created.
Ugh.
I walk into the weird building, STERN's SHIPYARD, according to the SIGN.
"What the heck is a doohickey?" I ask him.
"Hi, I'm DOCK," he responds.
Okay, thanks for answering.
He notices that I have the DEVON GOODS with his x-ray vision, that goes through my body and allows him to see into my backpack.
He tells me that CAPT. STERN isn't currently here right now, then tells me that I should go find him.
I head to the OCEANIC MUSEUM for sight-seeing.
Except, well, a whole team of people from TEAM AQUA are here in OCEANIC MUSEUM.
I pay the entrance fee of 50 money-items.
I maneuver my way through the crowd up to the second floor.
There is a guy in a labcoat up here.
I go talk to him.
He introduces himself as STERN.
Yes!
I hand him the GOODS.
Two TEAM AQUA members come upstairs, and are about to steal the parts.
So I challenge them to a battle.
He sends out a LEVEL 15 CARVANHA.
Whatever that is.
I send out WALLY.
I use CONFUSION on it, because that seems like the natural thing to do.
WELL CRAP STUPID DARK TYPES WALLY YOU ARE NOW DEEMED USELESS BY LE ME
I switch out to KFC. It's a fish, so it is probably WATER-TYPE.
KFC makes it faint with an ABSORB.
Good.
The second guy has a ZUBAT out first.
That's good.
I order Wally to make it faint because of its CONFUSION.
And it does.
He sends out another CARVANHA.
I send out my bruh.
And laugh.
I tell bruh use NATURE POWER just to see what it does here.
SWIFT. Yay.
I tell bruh to do it again.
And I defeat the CARVANHA, and thus the GRUNT.
After the BATTLE, the two GRUNTS back up.
Then a really important-looking character shows up.
"I am TEAM AQUA's ARCHIE."
So, yeah, no real after-notes for today.
I skipped Brawly because I want to destroy him and his Pokémon later on in the story, because he was always the hardest Gym Leader for me for whatever reason.
