Pokémon Pokémon snap

Originally I wasn't going to get it. I just got my Switch last April and already have 7 games (none of which I've finished because as much as I love gaming, I'm complete trash at them, even after all this time). Plus I just bought Story of Seasons and Luigi's Mansion. But right before it was announced, I'd just been telling my friend how much I missed that game and I was planning on playing it again. So I ended up buying it right before bed the day before it released. It's been all right so far.

I don't think I'll buy it. I'm not sure it will be for me?

I didn't know there was an original Pokemon Snap until I was telling someone about it, and they mentioned it. They had played it and liked it.

I hastily bought Pokemon Let's Go because I read it was a remake of Pokemon yellow. I immediately realised there was no battling, and so in total I've played it for a total of 5 min. ☹

After that, I'm apprehensive to buy a non-traditional Pokemon game. 😅

The graphics look so beautiful and the gameplay from the trailers looks awesome, but I don't think I will be buying it. I generally like story games, so the fact that all you do is take pics of Pokemon is not enough to keep me engaged personally (or worth the price for me either). I will however enjoy watching other people on twitch play it!

Well, you can't trust what I say. I watched the trailer and saw the venosaur jumping in front of a waterfall and bought it impulsively. 🤦‍♀️

Will update if regret.

To be honest, I'm having a lot of fun in it. I was initially a bit worried if the replay value would keep me going as I don't want to purchase a game where it's too easy or touch it once and drop it. I will say my method of playing.. is more on the stupid-violence side. I don't go for cute photos if you don't know me too well, lol.

I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to get it. I haven’t bought a Pokémon game for awhile but I loved the original snap. I eventually pre-ordered it and waiting for it to be delivered. Hopefully it will come tomorrow.

I'm definitely having fun with this game. I need more than 72 shots, because I keep running out of pictures. :ROFLMAO:

Some of the controls are a bit nitpicky, but it gives me reason to retry the course.

I played the original pokemon snap as a kid and enjoyed it but remember getting bored of it quickly.
The graphics on this one look beautiful. I've watched people stream the new one and enjoyed watching it. I don't think I will buy it though because I hear that it doesn't have too much replay value and doesn't offer enough creative freedom with photos. The fact that you will get a better score by having your pokemon in the center of the photo bugs me a lot, since that's not always what makes a photo appealing. It's a little strange that they are still pushing the centering your subject thing, when in photography communities IRL they usually actually encourage you not to do that, or at least step outside of that often.

So...I feel like I must have skipped over some important detail, because I can't figure out how to get illumina orbs beyond the first two. I have the ones for the park and the jungle...but, I've since been to about 4 other locations, and I have investigated the crystablooms...and I haven't seen any more illumina Pokemon yet.

I'm thinking of buying it, but from the gameplay I've seen you're always driving in a car.. is that true ?
Or can you walk freely around ? Because if you can never actually stay in play and walk by yourself, I wouldn't want to buy it :/

You aren't driving. You are simply in the vehicle. Yes. It is a "on-rails shooter"...just like the original Snap was. The idea is that you have limited time to react and take the best photos. If you were walking freely, that would make it very easy to get the photos you want. The new Snap is about reaction times...just as the classic was.

once i can afford it i will!!! currently saving up for a mario kart live kart (to get mario or luigi hmmmm)

This game is so got me in the feels! I played this on end on the 64, dont have cash atm to swing for it atm. But friend has it and she says its pretty good! So i'm planning on eventually getting it!

Ohh okay! I thought there might be something like a free mode, where you can walk around and just take pictures like that.
I've never played the original, so I had no idea that it was always like that. Thanks for clarifying!

Mine's on the way (along with my first ever AC Amiibo card packs!), and I can't wait. I played my old Snap game so much so that I purchased a (cheap) Japanese copy of the game just to experience it again without wiping my old data.

So far I am really loving the game, the graphics are so good and all the pokemon are so cute. It really is everything I'd want in a regular pokemon game too (with the character designs) I don't feel like I have to rush through the game, and it's more of a game that I can play when I want to just relax. The only time I got a little hung up on was getting the pink crystloom but after I threw some apples (i know they aren't called apples, but I will call them apples anyway) I was able to get a photo of it.
