Pokémon Pokemon Sun and Moon General Discussion

I really kind of want an all Alolan Pokemon team, but I have this habit, of making my Trainer's sidekick/main pokemon a Ghost type (shiny if I can help it). I adore ghost types, and I dislike using the starters they give you. I love the starters, but it's just such a common, and lame thing seeing everyone have the same pokemon on their teams because they're major parts of the story. Which is why as soon as I possibly can, I replace my starter with a ghost type that I like. I really like Mimikyu, but it's shiny isn't very interesting. I'm just super picky, and have my own style and way of doing things in Pokemon games. There aren't really any Alolan ghost types that I REALLY like. :s I'm having a tough time making my entire team Alolan.

What about Misdreavus? You can get that in this game, right? That one is cute! Also, it's totally cool that you have your own style of playing! I don't think there is a right/wrong way to play c:

I will only add a pokemon to my team if I plan on permanently keeping it. I hate using pokemon just to pass a particularly challenging leader (hence, why it took me so long to beat Ilima!). That's my own personal quirk when playing the game!
 
My team goal is Bewear, Niioctic, Oricorio (Pa'u style), Togedemaru, Sableye (Probably), and Toxapex.

The only one I'm missing is a Sableye, because I'm holding out for a shiny one. If I end up with a shiny Carbink instead though, I might work my team around it. After being in battle with it for hours, I really think Carbink is super cute lol. I'm chaining for a shiny Pokemon though. Love those recolors~

I do like Misdreavus/Mismagius too, but I just REALLY like Sableye. I wish we also had Mega evolutions in this game, even though I like Z moves. Mega Sableye is the best thing I have ever had the pleasure of adding to my team. I even liked it better than Mega Banette. I also play with my team, like you do. Even if my team isn't the best for the challenge I'm facing, I train them and make it work. I just use the Pokemon I like, and on occasion I make an exception to balance out my team's typing, but I will NEVER use a Pokemon I dislike.
 
Planning on shiny hunting for a Rowlet once I get my hands on the game \o/
 
On another note, the only Alolan ghost type I don't really like is the sandcastle. It's cute, but I mean, it's a sand castle... Even the anchor is cooler than that!

Well as you know (I think) mega evolution are in the game but their post game don't know if you can play it regular once you have it (not sure on that) and you can the rest (not sure if it will appear every stone) in the battle tree

I don't mind a few spoilers here and there. If the mega evoltuions are in the game, I will screech if I fine Mega Sablenite. Mega Sableye is like my #1, followed closely by Mega Banette! SOOOO CUTE.

Ok, my first instinct was to say Sableye, but then I had a brain malfunction and thought it was Psychic for some reason... ; v ;

So, I agree with you... YES TO SABLEYE! c: I was also going to say, Mega Sableye is one of my favorites~ I love its design and shiny Mega Sableye is so cool; gold and green... so, yeah that sucks that there are no Mega-able in this game... although, hunting for a shiny + mega sounds like absolute torture! XD

Ah, and I'm glad I'm not the only one that plays that way! That's why I usually keep my starter lol, I just feel so badly sticking it in a box ;3;

P.S. Are you serious, the sand castle is Ghost-type? Ok, that makes ZERO sense...!

I wouldn't mind having a Bewear, but I think Stufful are really rare? I don't like spending hours hunting.

When I was training my team for Mimikyu, I went through about 50 wilds before I randomly stumbled across an Alolan Sandshrew. Made sure to grab it right away but the rarity was pretty ridiculous.

I'm really not sure like I know the gameplay I might reach league pretty quick don't know but
You know about the battle tree so you can. Check there

I feel bad about sticking any pokemon in boxes, but I do anyways. I know it's just a game, but I'm literally just storing "animals" like trophies lol. I don't use my starter for long though. I get use them to get to the Pokemon that I want, and "abandon" them. It's awful, but a much more fun way to play. On my OR, I stored my Pokemon on Pokebank, and started the game over. My so called starter, was a shiny level 10 Aron. It was so fun! Also, it's a steel type, so I wrecked my opponents for awhile lol.

Haha, that's how I feel too! I am trying to catch all of the pokemon I come across, but then I see them just sitting in there... gathering dust ; v ; OH WELL!

I've been debating getting pokemon bank~ is it compatible with Sun/Moon?

They aren't that rare. It took me probably less than 30 minutes to find a Stufful with the right ability.

I always like to have the starter with me and especially in this one because
They are like your buddies

Like ash and his pikachu so that I always have my stater with me
If I make another team then yeah sometime there no starter

But when it's the first I don't have the heart to put him in the box
 
I don't like using the legendaries.... idk about these ultra beasts, so I'm hesitant to add them to my team either

Ribombee

Ribombee is actually super helpful, pollen puff is a great move with great coverage, backed by almost always going first... Ribombee hits pretty well and I don't even have quiver dance yet
Toxapex's toxic/merciless is disgustingly strong, I have knocked out ones in one shot who were "not effective" to poison
Palossand is the one I'm teetering on, I may switch to Dhelmise once I find one... or I need better moves for him

just faced Lusamine, holy crap.... Ribombee was clutch

Alolan sandshrew it's mount lanikala (where the league is so yeah he in the last part)

The other 2 are in lush jungle I think

comfey is in the verdant jungle... stufful is on the route right before it leading up to the pokemon center near where you get that wimpod! the back end of the second island
