Do you guys think they will connect something with the switch to pocket camp?

Definitely, though to what extent no one can really say. I imagine exclusive items at least, which for people like me that don't play mobile games, are gonna be fun to achieve via purchasing off of other players.

The fact that you can connect Pokemon Go with a Pokemon Switch games makes this seem likely. I can't find anything straight from Nintendo that says this but I see a lot of sources say that Nintendo plans to have PC connect with a full game.

Apparently through datamining it was found that PC was supposed to connect to NL.

"Sadly, the bridge of connectivity between New Leaf and Pocket Camp was severed, as the removal of the smartphone item from the Welcome Amiibo update destroyed the form of connectivity between games. We may still get connectivity between Pocket Camp and the future Animal Crossing Switch release, but it?s a huge shame knowing that connectivity was planned, and eventually scrapped entirely."

My fervent hope is that they will allow you to move decorative items from PC onto the Switch. I've spent so many leaf tickets on items, I would be so upset if they did not! But I'm not sure if they will, due to them releasing past AC walls, floors, and items for leaf tickets instead of bells when presumably you'd be able to obtain them on the Switch as in past games. Why would someone use hard currency for it when they can get it for free?

If they do I hope its just like a bonus item for connecting the two accounts. I dont want items or anything to be transferable really as that would technically make the game paytoplay

The most I could see them doing is linking for some exclusive DLC items from Pocket Camp, but I don't think they'd do anything major in terms of this.

Either that or allow you to carry some of your stuff from the RV to your Switch Town, giving you kinda a head start in interior decorating.

I feel that would be allowing too much. They know decorating the interior of their house something people want to do. They're not giving you a massive headstart like that from a mobile game.

And again, you can buy items in pocket camp with RLC essentially making the main line game pay to play....

That's a good point. They could make it so that you have to unlock the ability to move items from PC though. I'm probably in the minority, but I do really want items to transfer from PC since I've spent so much time on it. It wouldn't add any features to do so, just add more aesthetically, so I don't have a problem with it being seen as just extra content you *may* pay for or whatever.

I can't imagine the connection between the game and the mobile app being anything more than a few exclusive items that will be worth millions in the Switch economy, that is until the hackers get involved.

Even by affiliation, the ability to spend actual money on items in the app in order to be sent to the game will make the console game pay to win just from them being connected, and Nintendo isn't having that.

Okay, so moving an entire rock stage into a Switch town ain't the best of ideas... ^^;

Perhaps it may be something simple, like a model van?

I think, they could just make an event where you go camping with everyone aaaand the camp you'll have as a default will be the one you've made in Pocket Camp. :3 That makes the best sense to me. Though, of course they might not connect them at all, haha. XD

I would like them to allow us to transport our character directly from pocket camp to the new game in order to bypass the rover questions / whatever they change that out for. Maybe the outfit we're wearing could also come along with a starter kit of some sort and perhaps some bells, but nothing too much. I also think that being able to bring along a 'bestie' villager from pocket camp could be a nice feature and guarantee a favourite to everyone.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind too much if there wasn't any connectivity because I fully intend on deleting the app as soon as the new game comes out. :p

I'm sure they will connect them somehow but I hope it's not too much. I don't want to transport my whole pocket camp file to switch, I want to start fresh on the AC switch game or it just won't be as exciting in my opinion. I hope it's just some sort of item reward for linking your accounts.

I don't want any major connectivity between PC and the Switch version. PC has a ton of really cool exclusive items, but often they are either time-locked, pay-locked, or both. Even if you participate in an event from the beginning in Pocket Camp, it takes a lot of engagement and frequent logging in and grinding to get everything. It gets pretty stressful ( Which Animal Crossing shouldn't be in the first place ), especially when you have real life responsibilities on top of it.

Then we have the matter of fortune cookies. Every so often, a villager from the series will get their own set of items that fit a certain theme. The sets include a set of clothes, some furniture items, and a rare, unique piece of furniture. I admit, there are a lot of cool items from fortune cookies, but it's nasty because it runs off a gacha system. You have to fork out potentially hundreds of dollars to get the item you want. These can also run on a pretty short rotation, so if you wanted something from a certain series, you would feel rushed to make a purchase. I was pretty dissapointed to see this system snake it's way into Pocket Camp. :(

I would like to see most if not all PC items make it to the Switch, but not locked behind a transfer system. Honestly, I would prefer there be no connectivity between the app and the upcoming game at all. A vast majority of players would be screwed out of a lot of cool items right off the bat, all because they didn't dump piles of money and/or play the mobile app every three hours.

That's already true if you think about it though. Most of the Welcome Amiibo items can't be obtained without buying amiibo cards. People forget about it sometimes because they get a physical item too, but Nintendo basically uses amiibo as DLC for their games.

I can't see it being anything other than being able to transfer furniture/clothes from pocket camp to switch. I don't know if that would include amenities. Or maybe even invite your campsite villagers to move into your switch town.

The only thing is some of the furniture in that game comes from those limited edition event fortune cookies that you have to spend Leaf tickets (real money) on and if they decide to make those exclusive to pocket camp-switch transfer, that's really gonna annoy me. Hopefully I'll be able to buy it off people on this forum but they will be overpriced for sure -.-

Seems very likely, especially as New Leaf's Welcome Amiibo update was going to include connectivity to Pocket Camp. Hopefully it'll be nothing major, but we'll see. I can't play Pocket Camp due to Nintendo locking out rooted Android users, so that's fun.

I kind of prefer no connectivity. But I know a lot of people paid a ton of money for the app so maybe it'll be nice for them to be able to transfer their catalog/items to Switch game. But I really don't want this to be exclusive to acpc players. Make it easier for them to get those items, but not impossible for those that don't play it. If they reward you with exclusives, I'd be pretty mad. It's like they're punishing fans who never got into the game or never paid for any items. The items you are rewarded for playing ACPC should be items you can eventually get/unlock in the Switch game itself.

no no no no. no connectivity, PLEASE, nintendo. i don't like the idea of being forced to play a mobile game in order to get certain items, especially if i have to pay actual money for them. Just no...
