Post-Apocalypse Island Ideas

I've been working on a post apocalyptic island. I have an idea for outside the borders, which is a whole ton of empty abandoned wastelands. But inside the border (The Town) I am pretty stuck. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!

Cool island idea, for the town I would go with things that imply they don't have running water or power. Stuff like camp equipment, you could even do a Fallout thing with 50's diner and gas station. Also maybe "fallen" satellites or a UFO in the desert lol
You could also make the town a farm of sorts, either implying that it used to be a farm and the animals mutated to become villagers or you're farming them?

Never thought of this as a theme
Lets see...I can give you villager ideas to go with your post-apoc world. Maybe have some undead or inorganic villagers like Lucky (zombie/mummy dog) or Ribbot outside of the fenced zone while having living villagers inside the zone. Raddle could be a good villager in the safe zone as a doctor.

Maybe some terraformed cliffs to act as watch towers looking out over the waste land? Either functional ones you can climb up on (maybe with some tourist telescopes?) or even just a raised cliff with a lighthouse on top would look pretty cool at night.

You could use the stalls as different booths for supply distribution, one with jugs of water, one with food (pumpkins?), one with fuel (barrels of gas?) maybe near residents services as sort of a central hub.

Also I think you could make some pretty cool warning signs using custom designs and the plain wooden shop sign.

Anyway I think this is a very cool idea! Do you have any plans for specific villagers for this island?

Radioactive cleanup area with spacesuits and hazardous barrels, some of the spillages have also caused spiders to grow larger than usual and more ferocious (Spider Crabs) maybe even a powerplant that caused the original damage to the island.

Ahh that's such a clever idea! I have a bit of input as well:
I've seen a video where the mario block items were used to build tunnels. You could make bunkers this way and place some survival items in there and campfires outside! The bunkers could be hidden by trees or big rusted iron frames. You could also chop off trees and leave the stumps for a more dead and wasted country look. Add scattered papers on the floor, maybe some corners with piles of trash...

Edit: a biiig crack in the floor that stretches across a larger area implying that there has been some kind of natural disaster (can be tied in with the atomic wasteland idea from above). A few custom design drawings could make for a realistic looking crack in the floor!

What a neat idea. The only input I could think to add is maybe have a small greenhouse (the 2 stall items on the sides + metal shelf diy item in the back; something like that) with a single flower or the tiny cactus item, but otherwise have weeds everywhere. It may add some nice striking contrast between the rest of the sparseness!

although i really like the urban/rural japanese city style, i really liked the way she decorated the fake building area. hope this helps somehow lol

I just wanted to chime in and say that this island theme idea sounds amazing! I'd love to see the finished product whenever you're done, OP.
