For me it would be 3-4 minutes. Most of my songs are that long anyways! Some of my favorites are almost 5 minutes but anything more I get bored of so I think 3 - 5 is my overall preferred length of music!!!

I tend to prefer songs on the shorter side. 2-4 minutes. I primarily listen to music while commuting and I've found listening to longer songs makes the journey drag.

I don't really have a preference. Each song is its own thing and takes as long as it takes, I just take them as they come and judge them individually.

I'd say 3-4 minutes for me as well, though really I'll listen to a song with any amount of time, so long as it's a good song.

I love this question because the answer would probably differ if you were talking to a rhythm game player LOL.
I like 3-4 mins if I'm listening to song, but that's WAY too long for a rhythm game song. I like my rhythm game songs to be a cozy sub-2:00 mins, otherwise I'd fatigue faster. I just chose the average 2-3 mins for compromise.

(Sorry for rambling but I'm so nitpicky with rhythm game song lengths. The songs in Bandori were like less than 2 mins, but the ones in Prsk are a little above 2 mins. I know the difference between the average song in the two games is maybe 10-15 seconds, but if you're playing on a beatmap those seconds feel like you extended an eternity.)

I would say 4-5 minutes, but one of my all time favourites lasts over 10 minutes is 'Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding' by Elton John.

3-4 minutes is usually a nice length for me but I would never be offended if a song I liked was longer. When they're under 2 minutes, it feels more like a preview than a full song.

I think it depends on the genre. When I’m listening to scores or relaxing instrumentals I prefer they be longer. Usually when I listen to those I tend to create a story to go along with the song in my mind. It really boosts my creativity. When it comes to other music I like usually just a normal 3-4 minutes. I think 2 minutes is a tad bit too short for me unless it’s hip hop/rap. I think rappers can make a real bop in a short amount of time.

X Japan - Forever Love
X Japan - Endless Rain
I see you are a person of culture, I approve.

And yeah those songs are obviously meant to be this long so those I like ^

But if someone does random bops that are that long for fun with effort yeah, I don't like. I'd rather have like 2 minute 60s bops than like a modern 10 minute drag.

To me, the length doesn’t matter so much as quality of a song.

Yeah, I understand. I wouldn't want to listen to a song that repeated the same lyrics or the exact same rhythm over and over for 10 minutes. All of the longer songs I like have a purpose with shifts in tone and the lyrics evolve throughout the song.

Yeah, also have to mention Art of Life here, that's a good example of a long, good, more concept type of rock/pop song that do work very well.

Also a pet peeves is all those radio edit songs you find first sometimes, if a song is supposed to be half an hour then I want that, lol.

So long as it's good, I don't care whether the length is a little over two minutes . . .

. . . a little over seven minutes . . .

. . . or truly long distance . . .

if it’s a song i like, the length of it doesn’t matter to me; it could be 5+ minutes long, and i’d still listen to it happily. i do tend to listen to (and prefer) songs that are around 3-4 minutes long, though. not really a fan of songs that are 2 minutes or less long as they feel too short to me, but i’ll still listen to them if i like them.

I feel like if a song is any less than three minutes long, it's just too short lol
there's a few songs I like that are around 2 minutes and they seem like they're over too quickly

but on the other hand, anything over 4 minutes and I start to lose interest lol

5 minutes is the perfect length for me, not too long, not too short

Im always really sad when a banger is a minute or less, or even 2 minutes, 3 and 4 minutes is good but 5 is perfect for me, anything longer is intimidating

though i tend to listen to some songs on loop for hours anyway so lol

I don't really have a preference in song length. My favorite songs playlist definitely leans toward shorter songs (many of which are between 1 and 3 minutes), but that's to be expected given the nature of the songs, as most of them are from video games and are meant to loop. But I have songs ranging from just 35 seconds long all the way up to 15 and a half minutes. One particular song I like but isn't on my playlist is almost half an hour long (I have an abridged version on my playlist though).

Basically, song length doesn't really matter much to me if I find the song to be enjoyable.
