Purchases you regret

I don't watch trailers before I play games, so I bought Pokémon Let's Go (ages ago) and didn't realise you couldn't battle wild pokémon. Between two different sessions, I've collectively played about 20 minutes of it! 😅

I regret buying this kitty build a bear because I said it’ll be my last one and then they did the animal crossing build a bears and I just regret not waiting 😞😭 I really want an Isabelle build a bear but I can’t have one :(

some video game purchase I regret that come to mind are the friends of mineral town remake and pokémon ultra moon. it was basically the same as pokemon moon idk why I got it lol.

I remember regretting buying Hyrule Warriors on the 3ds because it was on sale. I can see why people like it but battles that involve seemingly a million urgent tasks at the same time isn't really a fitting game for me. Ended up finishing the story and a little of adventure mode.

There are so many games I ended up regretting buying. Unless a store doesn’t accept it, I always sell physical games I don’t like. With digital games it’s a lot worse. Aside from Steam none of the digital game stores I use offer refunds. This leads to me buying games I can’t do anything with.

The worst example was buying Revenant Saga. I was expecting a fun, cheap JRPG with some charm. What I got was terrible shovelware with the flattest story imaginable. I couldn’t refund my money, so I just deleted it off my system. If you see a game made by Kemco go the other way.

So recently I bought a xiaomi smart bedside lamp, which I love... but I also bought another smart bulb to put it one of my existing standing lamps because I thought it would be neat to sync them and it doesn't look as nice as I thought. I also bought a foldable tray table to put next to my futon but literally a few hours later I saw a nicer one at a vintage/second hand store.

An ikea shelf. It didn't come with the appropriate screws, which was annoying, and then I felt pretty stupid putting holes in my wall to hang a $5 MDF shelf.

bought the switch port of (the original) final fantasy 7 since I never finished it back in the day. and I'm still probably never going to 😅

I bought a bit too much amiibo cards that I am not going to use much these days since I got their photos, but I will keep some of them as a spare since I have ones that are the same in case if I lose one of them. I don't know what I was even thinking buying that much amiibo cards.

I still have my save on PC that I've been telling myself for probably two or more years now that I'm going to go back and finish. That, and I still need to start Final Fantasy VIII, which seems to be hated by many but absolutely loved by the people that do like it. So that should be interesting if I ever actually sat down and played the games that I bought.

I used to watch trailers and reviews but kinda stopped since they were nothing like real games for most parts. So, yeah obviously I have a lot of these 20 minutes played games aha.

I remember playing the old Commandos games for the PC, so I figured the remastered version would be nice. It was not. It was super glitchy and had awful loading times. And since it was so glitchy/laggy I would end up being caught when it wasn't my fault but the terrible game...and so I would have to reload a save that took like 2-5minutes each time.

That got old fast so I gave up after the 2nd mission. Literally one time I had one of my soldiers drop to an army crawl. That much I intended. I then clicked for them to go just a few feet ahead and instead he army crawled like The Flash all the way to the other side of the map and kept crawling into the map's end barrier. And also alerted every solider in that radius. Fun stuff.

Honestly, there isn't any purchase I regret making. Obviously some purchases worked out better than others, but ultimately I'm careful with what I buy to make sure I don't regret it as time goes along.

Also its always best to save up money for stuff you really want to get and you have to make sure you have money leftover for the next thing you want. I learned that the hard way when I was being wreckless spending money on stuff I didn't need back in my teenager days.

i don't regret it a ton but i wish i didn't buy my macbook and just saved for a little longer for a real gaming set up

Damn... But yeah reminds me of Borderlands 2 which I got cause it looked super fun and I was really into like any computer gaming back then LOL but yeah it really did not save properly so you could get stuck really early, even if you completed that one part you were never able to save so next time you had to do it all over again etc. So yeah obviously one of those 20 minutes games I never touched again.

Oh, another thing I regret having bought: a weighted blanket for my husband. It was too damn big, too damn hot, and like.. how do you even wash & dry that thing? Now it just sits in the closet.

Seriously people, really think about the logistics of simply having a weighted blanket before you buy one

My mom is usually kind to do the washing for mine(in a machine?), but yeah you can do it. Basically get a bag you can roll on the ground on a wagon you could roll as well. Or yeah depending on weight you could carry it as well.

I love mine and it definitely helps with sleep since I'm cold and I don't sleep easy unless I*m actually dead tired so while it's not for everyone I do love mine.
