Purple Rose appears without trying

Hello,

Yesterday I posted a different thread because I had some questions about hybrids.

Today in my other town -- where I am not breeding flowers a purple rose appeared between 2 red roses.
According to the Prima Guide --- it takes 2 white roses.
This is how my purple rose appeared

YWY= yellow rose -white rose -- yellow rose
RPR =Red rose -purple rose--Red rose
--R=empty space -- empty space -- White Rose

1. Is there another color combination for purple?
2. If I remove the purple --- does that guarantee another purple will come up?

Genes are passed along in this version. So a yellow/red flower made from a white flower can act as a white flower, which is how you can get purple roses from non-white roses.

Wow that's confusing.

I had it happen once. I figured it was because I had my roses next to the purple lilies or violets.

Also the Prima guide is notoriously inaccurate. Other guides say that red and white roses can make purple, as well as white and white.

I am breeding hybrids right now and I get all kinds of hybrids that I wasn't going for.
Mainly black and purple tulips though.
