Yesterday was actually a good day in Hollowyn. I went out watering flowers, digging fossils, and finding gyroids. I had a couple of empty spots, so I went fishing while waiting for Re-Tail to open. Caught two oarfish, which is always worth some money.

Better yet, once Re-Tail opened, the item Reese was paying premium for was oarfish! I was able to pay off the Police Station, so that isn't hanging over me.

The NBs' opened, so I went to check it out. I bought a regular sapling from Leif, which finishes the grove around the lighthouse, as well as a holly start and a sweet olive start. The holly was planted near the Train Station, between two bamboo stumps. I'm planning to alternate them around the cobblestone, making several openings to pass into the rest of the town. I figured the holly would look best with the cedar trees. Below the river, I'll use the sweet olive, blending that with the regular trees and orchards.

Speaking of orchards, when I went to cycle through my alternate characters, Jett had a letter from his mother, in which she had given him an orange. All I need now are peaches, and I'll be complete on the fruits.

I bought the brown pavement for Flint's house, so he's done. I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but it actually works well with the brick siding. I might change out the sculpted hedge down the road, but for now, I'm happy with his house. Once Jett gets a new mailbox (I think the Zen) and pavement (still not completely sure which one), all the exteriors will be done. Then I can really concentrate on expanding the houses and decorating them.

The rest of the day was pretty quiet. Lolly and Stitches both asked me to visit them, and later in the day, Lolly pinged me to ask for a replacement for her striped bass. Thank goodness. I gave her my modern wood sofa, which will look good, even though I had it refinished.

Rizzo seems to be trying to fit in with the others. I caught him talking to Lolly outside Re-Tail. Unfortunately, my cranky mouse was just a little too brusque for Lollykins to take, turning down her offer to try some of her cinnamon coffee cake. It isn't you, Lolly, he just doesn't like sweets. In the evening, he and Shari chatting by the river. Rizzo wanted to know why Shari made a scary face whenever she said hello to him, but not to any of the other villagers. He thought the best way to change it would be to practice saying "hello" and smiling. Shari just wasn't getting it, so Rizzo asked me to demonstrate. Monkey-girl still wasn't getting it right, so Rizzo finally let her go, although he said maybe she could practice at home. For my part, I'm inclined to side with him.

As for Shari, she finally pinged me for a PWP. And it was for a bench. But the wrong one; she asked if I would build a wood bench. *headdesk* How difficult is this, Shari? The log bench, please?

The villagers, on a whole, are looking for more PWPs to be built, so I think I might put up the windmill over behind Antonio's house. I'll have to move my cosmos breeding area, but I can re-position my tulips around the windmill, when it's done.

That's about it. Hope everyone has a good day in their towns.

Ooh, congrats on the Police Station! You have to show it tomorrow when it's all up.

Sounds like you're landscaping is going well, too. ^^ I put holly bushes with my cedar trees too, so great minds think alike!

I'll definitely post pics. Since the exteriors of the houses are just about finished, I was thinking about posting some pics of them, as well. Interiors... that's going to have to wait a while. ;)

Hehe, Yeah, those spiky leaves go well with the cedar trees, as do the bamboo stumps. We are a couple of brilliant gals. :D
