Okay this is the deal..I have been doing auctions lately and I am having problems with players that buyout. They buyout and that's the last I hear from them. I pm and pm them and no response. I can see they have been online and posting and making threads involving AC items so I know that's not the problem. . Up until now I leave no feedback but I have been told that I need to leave negative feedback to stop them from doing this to other players but... What do you think I should do?

Hmm, tough situation...that is very unfair for anyone else that may have been interested in your auction and very inconvenient to you! Perhaps leave a Neutral feedback? Sorry that keeps happening to you >.<

well.. if they really do not respond (through PM's and/or VM's) even though they have been active on the forums.. I guess it would be right to leave a negative feedback, because they probably aren't serious about their offer, and they might have just been claiming to buyout just for fun (which isn't good for a lot of reasons..).

So if I was in that situation, I'd probably leave a negative feedback so they'd stop

After 12 hrs with 2 or more PM/VM, and they are online and active but obviously ignoring you,
then yes, negative feedback stating what they've done so others can be informed.

And I'd add a big fat all caps requirement in all future auctions/selling threads:
anyone who claims to buyout MUST send those bells immediately after posting.
It'd be like the BIN option in eBay: it's only fair & reasonable to both the seller and all the buyers.
If the buyer refused or did not send in payment in a timely manner (say, within 15 mins after posting) then their offer should be ignored and auction should continue.
It's a jerk move to claim BO then went mia.

Sorry to hear what happened. Good luck! C:

When it is quite obvious the would be buyer is ignoring you and a reasonable period of time has elapsed, I believe you should leave negative feedback. To not do so only encourages them to do the same to someone else in the future.

Maybe it would also be prudent to add a line to any future auctions you host stating that negative feedback will be given if a buyer does not follow through with payment for that which they bid on.

There are rules applicable to auctions that should be read and adhered to, and a feedback option that is probably not used often enough because people are scared of getting reciprocal negative comments, however, in my experience the mods have swiftly dealt with any repercussions.

The feedback is there for a reason....... USE IT.......it is there to provide negative as well as positive comments and may help to stop other members suffering the same fate as you.

Maruchan and BiggKitty said it very well!
It is an altogether sad reflection of present times when people do not keep their word!
I am  that this has been happening to you!
The negative feedback needs to be given in these cases ... I know it is hard for you to do because you are so giving and kind yourself, but ya gotta do it, Pal!

I agree with everyone saying to leave negative feedback. I for one don't like to leave any negative feedback anywhere, be it this website or another (and luckily, I haven't had to do so here!) ... but it really saves a lot of people future troubles with the problematic customer(s). That aside, the mods have also said a few times that the best thing to do in this situation is to leave negative feedback whether or not they've come to your town.

Since this makes auctions really unfair to other people willing to buy, both in your auctions and future ones that this person may bid in, it's definitely best.
