Question about the event / Tokens

So I have a question about the event and the tokens. I read that you don't need to participate in every event to have at the end enough tokens for the balloon, so how many events can you miss but still have a chance to get the balloon? Like, in the current week for example, I can only do 2 out of the 3, since my 2DS got damaged and therefore I can't play New Leaf, have for now also no chance getting a replacement that quick. And what happens when you have tokens but not enough for the balloon, are there chances to trade them for other collectibles?

Can't say I know the answer to the first one, but for this one, they usually put an assortment of collectibles in the event shop so I do think you can exchange your tokens for something else in case you don't have enough for the balloon! Just like for this Friday the 13th event, they have a ton of spooky collectibles up for trade asides from the new green and red potions.

still, I do wonder if they'll do a leftover tokens raffle or anything. for people that only get like 11 tokens or otherwise chose to buy a blue or green balloon instead

plus, for the unlucky few that can't even get 10 tokens

You don't need to participate in everything in order to get the red balloon. However we cannot yet confirm an exact amount of events you need to enter. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I would personally recommend entering everything you can if the red balloon is your goal in case later events don't fit your tastes/abilities.

I think it could be possible. The last event had participation awards and extra tokens so even if you never got extra tokens for staff favorites or getting the closest guess in something it was still possible to nab a strange doll.

The red balloon will be possible to get if you miss just one event. If you miss a few more, you can get the green or blue ballon instead. We don’t know the total number of events yet though, so the prices that are currently in the shop may change. The balloons are rewards for completing most of the events, so there will not be prizes sold for just a few tokens. However, users who can’t be active over the four weeks of events can still get new collectibles from the weekly shops.

To add on to Lambda's question, would it be possible to exchange our leftover tokens for actual TBT after the event? I apologize if this has been asked already, but it would be nice for people who have like 1 left or were unable to participate in enough events for the cheaper prizes.

it is, but just like the bloodshot and swamp potions are for the friday the 13th week, the christmas and holiday week will probably have christmas themed collectibles up for grabs.
