hiii everyone!
i haven't really been online lately, but i'm back!

so, in the ac:nh direct, they said that the ac holidays would come with free updates. that made me think about time traveling- i'm assuming that will make time traveling impossible? maybe there won't even be an option to change the time.

what do you guys think? do you think time traveling will be possible? (or do you know if it will be? i might be missing something, haha.)

This has been asked and answered, debated and pondered. You could scour the multitude of posts that came before this one, but to summarize:

1) No, not impossible. Not ideal, maybe, but not impossible.

2) If there's no option to change the time in the game (like there is in New Leaf), then the game's time should be based off your system clock, which you can change.

3) Yes, I think it will be possible. No, I won't be doing it.

I actually just posted a thread asking for opinions on the DLC holidays lmao!

And I don't know! I'm honestly super curious to find out more about the downloadable holidays and what exactly they will entail. I'm confident that time-travelling will still be possible, so my best guess is that the holidays will not be live-updates, but instead will be DLC that adds to the seasons when they come around in your time. I dunno.

Probably possible but if you do, you won’t be doing much. All the holidays are essentially under lock and key until Nintendo says its time to celebrate Christmas.

thanks for your replies!
i probably won't be time traveling tbh- like, there's sooo much to do!

The holidays are being added with updates for 1 or 2 reasons.

1. They aren't ready
2. They will be unique every year.

It's not to stop time traveling. If it was, that would only confirm it was possible. Besides, the only way to stop time traveling would be to require the player to sync to a Nintendo time server each and every time they start the game.

When you save your game, the time is set in stone. When you load the game up the next time you play, it looks at your system clock and makes up the difference. It's unknown if Nook will ask you if the time is correct before playing, but you can always manually set your system clock to the time you want. Most of us have our clocks sync to the internet so we're always on the right time.

it’ll likely still be possible but only through changing the system clock itself but since holidays are dlc, you likely won’t be able to celebrate them until after they’re added if you time travel that far.

If the DLC were meant to prevent time-travelling, why would they let you download bunny day days or even weeks before the actual date of the event? They could have just added it to the game since it?s released on the same day. That pretty much confirms that they are still working on bunny day while the LE Switch consoles and the physical game copies have to be sent to all of the retailers in the mean time.

I think it's to prevent spoilers way ahead of time ... like if people time traveled to December and posted images on social media sell items to people.. this way this year everyone can experience holidays atleast close to its real time. Pr that they have stuff for use differently for each year .
