So I’m on day 3, just got the ladder and I’m beginning to place additional villager housing down, I placed all 3 kits and now it’s telling me to acquire these furniture items and place them around the plot? Has anyone got past this and can guide me?

Craft the items for each plot and the items that go inside you can select "view inside items" and if you have that item it will further prompt you and say "place items" and you select the items that belong with that plot.
For the outside items I just placed them around the tent (like right next to it), if you go and check "view outside items" each item should have a check when place outside, if not it's not considered within the plot
