Swaying gently in her chamber, the mechanical lady felt a sudden twitch in her spine. Connected to the whole facility, she could feel every bit of movement in every area of space, like back spasms every waking moment. But this particular feeling was different, for she could feel running. She could feel tiny feet, running along tiny runways and tiny platforms. Something was here. And it couldn't have been that lunatic. She was probably long gone by now. No, this was something different. Maybe the testing robots had been deployed by accident, but upon scanning the testing environments, there was nothing, and the elevators were completely still.

"What's going on?" she asked herself, flicking through the cameras. She had been working her way down the new, forgotten test shafts, thanks to the new testing robots doing things she physically couldn't from her chamber. Perhaps one of these areas had been unlocked. Then finally, it hit her: the human vault had opened.

The Aperture Science Extended Relaxation Annex (known to GLaDOS as the "human vault") was a large containment vault housing hundreds of humans from the vintage era, forgotten in time. The robots had found this vault, but GLaDOS had put off opening it until she had built enough test chambers. After all, the chaos she endured when one human was in the facility was enough without hundreds present. This was, in truth, a nightmare, but she had prepared for a situation like this.

"Well, this should be fun," she whispered, thinking about all the things she could do to stop these humans from ever reaching the surface. The turrets were on their way, the gas was warming up, and it was time to test.

Teela took in a large gasp for air as she shakily watched as the glass door to her pod had swung open. "W-where am I?" she questioned and hoped for an answer. Sticking her head out, she looked from side to side, noticing the other pods had all opened. Glancing down, the only thing preventing her from falling down was the tiny bit of flooring in her pod. Peering ahead, she was able to spot a platform walkway, but it was a bit of a jump. Gathering her wits, Teela stepped back before leaping out of the pod. She fell for a moment, but her fingers clasped around one of the metal bars on the railing. Struggling, she had managed to pull herself up onto the platform and laid there for a few minutes. She didn't know how long she was stored away, r when it happened, but the lack of movement had weakened her, and even a jump was exhausting.

As Xena gained consciousness she gasped for air. Her body felt weak, and she struggled moving. Getting out of the pod-shaped enclosure, she looked around. Noticing the other pods around her open, she wondered if there was more people like her. As she gathered herself, she saw ahead that all that was below from an empty void of who knows where, was a metal walkway. She stayed inside her pod to think of what the next step shall be. The only thing that kept her warm was the sweater she had on before getting enclosed inside a pod.

Adren?s eyes open. For the first time in years, he is awake. He is dazed, scared, confused. Where am I? How long have I been asleep? He can remember nothing but the heavy feeling of unconsciousness. He lifts his arm, the limb shaking as he moves it, weak from disuse. He places his hands on the glass door of his pod and it swings open at the touch. Grabbing ahold of edges of the pod, he takes in his surroundings. There is a catwalk that weaves its way around the room, surrounded by hundreds of other pods identical to his own. Clumsily, he stumbles over the gab between his pod and the platform.

After thinking of what she should do, Xena jumps making it onto the rail barely by a few inches. She stumbles and falls on the pathway, and raising herself up with the nearby bars. "Hello?" No one answers but she hears nearby footsteps. Closer. And Closer. With each metal echo. She braces herself for what is coming next. May it be friend or foe.

Teela glances up as two figures jump onto the catwalk. They certainly much more graceful about landing than she was. She pulls herself upright with the railings and she stares at the woman and man who had landed on either side of her. "Um..." she bit her lip as she made a sound, her voice coming out a bit raspy. "Where are we? Do you guys know?" she tugged on her blonde braids, one of her nervous habits besides biting her lip.

As he stumbles around in confusion, he hears a voice calling out. Without any other options, he makes his way towards it. The source of it is a young girl and he is relieved to see another person, but unsure of what to say in such a situation. Tentatively, he opens his mouth to speak when a voice behind him breaks the silence, a girl has approached them and is standing nervously nearby. "I don't know..." he answers, the sound of his voice is rough, unfamiliar. "There has to be some way out of here though." He glances around, but the catwalk seems to go on forever. "By the way, i'm Adren. What are your names?"

She approaches these 2 figures. My name is Xena. There has to be some way out but we must stay as a group. We need a plan, and make it a good one. Right now let's figure out our options and see which is the best one. She looks down at herself, only thing she has on is that cat sweater, a pair of jeans, and pink sneakers.

Hair is a bit tangled, but she likes the shade of blue it has.

Teela watches as the man approaches. She clears her throat a bit to loosen up her vocal cords so she could speak properly. "I'm Teela." she mumbles, her voice sounding much softer and a bit more innocent. "The plan would to get out of this place, or at least figure out how we got here..." she responds to Xena, taking a moment to observe the woman's features before glancing over at Adren.

"Well it seems like we were all released from these "pods" at the same time." she said. But the question is who? or what? As Xena paces around the walkway she notices a little glinting locket on the floor. She reaches to grab it, and it was in too bad condition to notice what was inside. She stores it in her pocket, now intrigued by what it had. "Teela and Adren we must stick as a group to survive whatever this is. I suggest we start heading out to the path in front of us, the one of the left side doesn't give a good vibe."

Song opened her eyes, gasping breaths finding their way out of her mouth. Slowly, she pushed herself to a sitting position, feeling her weak arms shake under her own weight.
"Wh....What....?" She mumbled, rubbing a hand across her eyes. Finally starting to wake up, Song heard a gentle whisper of voices across the chamber, and hope suddenly pricked her heart. People!
"H-Hello...?" She asked, unsure whether the call out to them or not. Hesitating, she slung her arms over the edge of the pod and peered over to the source of the voices, before repeating, "Hello?"

Adren nods, it's not as if he has a better idea of what to do. He feels anxiety bubbling up inside him, they have no idea what they might find, and given the circumstances it seems unlikely that it would be favorable. Although he barely knew Xena and Teela, he took comfort in the fact that he would not be alone. Despite his misgivings, he wants answers. He is about to voice his agreement when he hears a sound behind him. He turns to see another girl across the chamber.

Xena turns around at the same time as Adren to see a woman standing in front of them. "Hello. Who may you be?" Xena said. She wondered if there was more humans or if they were just the only 4. Now with one just popping up, the mere thought of it is possible. Strength in numbers, for she hoped this mystery girl was on their side.

Teela watches as the woman places something into her pocket, causing the girl to frown a bit. "Maybe we should just stay here though? We were in those pods, which kept us safe for however long we were in them, and this whole place doesn't give off any good vibes..." She glanced up and noticed another female peering out of the pod. Walking along the catwalk to get closer, she gripped the railing with one hand and used the other to reach out for the woman. "I'm Teela... Are you alright?"

I hate to be a bummer but could you guys put your locations at the start of your post in future? As players journey across the map, it helps keeps things organised for the later stages of the game. Thanks!

Human vault:

Song waved her arm as frantically as she could.
"Can....Can you help me out then....?" She asked shakily, staring down at the figure below her. Spotting the reached out hand, she gripped it weakly and slightly awkwardly, trying to focus on the girl's face through tangled hair.
"Song Yi." She said, attempting to use the girl's arm as support. "And I'm ok....Thanks...."

Human Vault:

I suppose we should start to at least go somewhere."Teela is she on the up and up?" Xena said while glancing at them. "And Adren what do you suppose we should do? It seems there are 2 hallway entrances, but both don't look good. But I suppose it's better than just standing here not knowing what will come next." she finished with a slight nervous tone in her voice.

"I say we go left!" Song interrupted, finally managed to haul herself out of the pod. She let go of the helpful girl's hand quickly, and straightened up, making a show of peering down each hall way. "Left!"

[Human vault]

Adren watches as Song makes her way safely onto the platform. He nods in agreement at her suggestion. "Left is fine with me, I mean, we don't really have any other options, so we may as well just pick a direction and go for it." he says. "And it's been long enough since we woke up that I don't think we're going to run into anyone else."

"Not so fast," GLaDOS taunted. The walkway began to collapse and crumble beneath their feet, and if they didn't hurry the whole vault would collapse. A defective turret had been put in place by an unknown survivor, to protect the vault from artificial clutches, but she had made her way through effortlessly, and she was more than ready to test now, with thousands upon thousands of test chambers ready for her new playmates, until they either died trying to complete them or died of old age.

"The Enrichment Center would like to take this opportunity to remind you that any attempt to kill you is a mere illusion caused by your lack of fresh air for the past few years," GLaDOS explained. "Please make your way through to the testing environment, where you will receive family support, a social partner, and individual cakes for each one of you."

To the left of the human vault was a series of tunnels and pipes, leading to GLaDOS' chamber as an end result. To the right was an identical runway, leading to GLaDOS' toxic gas supply. The humans must make their choices wisely, both as a group and as individuals.
