Suddenly, the catwalk begins to shake as if the room itself is stirring and the air is filled with the sound of groaning metal. A mechanical voice sounds, and Adren gasps. A few years - Could it really have been so long? “What’s happening?” he yells, his voice disappearing into the chaos around him. All he knows is that they need to get out fast if they had any hopes of survival. “Let’s go!"

[Human Vault]
Teela watched as Song jumped safely onto the catwalk, causing her to smile faintly. "Um... Left sounds alright..." She froze at the metallic voice. "Family support?" she echoed quietly. Her parents had died a few years before she was placed in the pod. She let out at squeak as the ground began to tumble away and she gripped the railing. Backing away slowly from the others, she watched as the metal flooring fell down into the void below. She then felt the plate beneath her begin to shift, and that's when she bolted towards the path to the right.

Human Vault:
They run forward as a group not knowing where to go next. All Xena knew was that they needed to go somewhere and fast. Some pods were already collapsing, falling into the empty void of darkness below them. Someone is controlling everything, and she doesn't like the feeling of it, not one bit.

(lets wait for teela and song to make a choice)

 

[Nightmares]

"Gah!" Song shouted, but her voice was drowned out in the chaos that erupted around her. "...T-That voice--" she tried to say, but she gave up trying to speak, sprinting towards the left exit. With her heart crashing again her ribcage, and the blood thumping in her ears, she made a gesturing motion for the rest of the group to follow her. The darkness lurked ahead of her, frightening and foreboding. How old are you now? Song asked herself. A falling pod whipped past her head. You're old enough not to be scared of these things now.
Song bit her lip this time, tasting blood, as she watched a figure in the distance run right. "No, guys...!" She let out of groan of frustration. "Whatever." She whispered, a new coldness seeping into her shaking voice. Limbs feeling weak and strained, Song used the last of her energy to reach the end of the catwalk, before her legs gave way beneath her. She felt everything crumple as if her body was made from paper, and she clutched at her legs desperately, breathing hard. Strange stars sparked her vision.

[Right Escape Route]
Teela had managed to jump to safety off the catwalk, but now she was separated from the others. Turning around, she bit down hard on her lip as she watched the pods start to tumble down, humans who were just waking up were screaming out as they plummeted to their deaths. A loud whimper escaped her throat as she slowly covered her eyes with her hands. "T-that wasn't an illusion... They all felt it..."

Adren watches as his companions leave in opposite directions in the confusion, unsure of what to do, he tears after Song. He can feel his pulse racing as adrenaline courses through him. Debris fills the air as pods and pieces of the ceiling begin to crumble and fall into the dark mouth of whatever lies below. Gasping for breath, he reaches the end of the catwalk and collapses onto solid ground.

Song watched as the boy collapsed beside her, and a small smile curved her lips, almost forgetting about the chaos around them. "Tired too, huh?" She asked, struggling to stand up as the catwalk swayed beneath her. Watching the boy gasp for breath, she held out a hand to help him up. "Thanks for following me. Now, come on!"

[Left escape route]

Adren takes her hand, grateful for the help. "Yeah, long day." he says grinning. He looks around, the catwalk is almost completely destroyed now, and his heart feels heavy as he considers all the people still sleeping in the pods who were now almost certainly dead. He'd seen Teela run off to the right, and he hopes that she'd made it safely. He turns back to Song and nods, "Yeah, let's get going."

(should probably wait to find out where Xena went!)

 

[Nightmares]

She smirked back at him, then let go of his hand quickly, turning back round to the exit. The chaos behind her still didn't cease, so she squeezed her eyes shut tightly, attempting to block everything out.
I bet so many people are still in those pods... Song thought, trying to breathe normally. Her legs wobbled once again. I....I don't care.... I don't care...!
Clenching her teeth, she ran down the exit, attempting to see as the flights flickered on and off above her. Darkness appeared again every few seconds, and Song felt her heart beat faster and faster. Chocked breaths forced their way out of her mouth. Her footsteps slowed down.
"What....What are you doing??" She called to the boy, as she watched him hesitate at the entrance. Leave them! Song wanted to say, but guilt gripped at her heart.

Human Vault-Left Route:

Xena ran with the group, worried for Teela went to the right side. She kept running and never looked back. As she caught up with Song and Adren, she felt safe. She could just imagine how Teela felt, all alone and probably scared. The thoughts made her shudder. Someone or something is controlling everything, and now that she got away from the Human Vault and is in the Left Route, she wonders what is up ahead. All those humans inside the pods still frozen without movement made her very sad, but glad she was able to move and get out with Adren and Song up until this point.

 

[Nightmares]

"You're...You're coming too?" Song called down the hallway. She fidgeted and rocked on her heels unconsciously, eager to move. "Hurry up!!" She called desperately. "Come on!"

[Right Escape Tunnel]
Teela slid her hands to cover up her ears from the metal crashing onto metal and the loud groans as the remains of the catwalk fell away. Once the loud sounds had stopped, she shakily stood up and peered over to the tunnel the group had fled to. "A-are you guys alright?" She called out hesitantly before glancing behind to try and spot the end of her tunnel.

Adren begins to follow Song when he hears footsteps behind him. To his relief, he turns to see Xena approaching them. Glad to see that she's made it safely, he smiles and beckons for her to follow. At that moment, he hears something distantly - a voice? "Did you hear that?"

 

[Nightmares]

Song turned slowly, expecting something terrible to be lurking behind her suddenly.
"A...Voice..?" She questioned, attempting to peer at the boy's face as the lights flickered above. Feeling a terrible sense of foreboding, she forced down a childish whimper, and weakly walked back towards the pair.

You can post! This round will still last at least a few more pages. Progress by your own means! Deaths and other such important events are determined at the end of a round, not during it. I'll only interrupt it when I want to introduce a new element/obstacle.

Teela listened for a response from the others, but when she got none, she began to fear the worse for the others. Chewing on her lip, she turned around and began to walk away from the broken room. "I'll just have to get through this place alone..." she muttered to herself

Adren pauses, glancing over his shoulder at the ruined expanse of the pod room, listening again for some sort of follow up to the calls he had heard. When nothing comes, he shrugs and turns back towards his companions "Sorry, I guess it was nothing after all." he says. "Come on, we need to go."

 

[Nightmares]

Song breathed out heavily. "Ugh, what the hell."
The lights didn't turn back on this time, so she walked quickly back over to the pair, and kept a steady pace beside the boy. "So....I don't think I asked...." she began. "...what your names are..."
