Rat Room | Role-Play | TBT Bell Rewards

Adren jogs to catch up with Song. "Oh, yeah I guess you showed up after introductions." he says. It hadn't occurred to him that although he knew her name, she did not know any of theirs. "My name's Adren."

[Left exit]

Song nodded her head slowly. "Nice name..." she mused.
"W-Well, let's walk and talk at the same time, eh?" Her eyes darted about in the darkness, and she turned back round from the pair quickly. "Or jog. Or run. Haha...." She laughed, but worry laced her voice. We'll be ok....

Adren smiles "Ah... thanks.." he watches as she looks nervously around the dimly lit room. He begins to feel anxious himself, now that the adrenaline of the escape has passed. The end of the tunnel is nowhere in sight, and it's too dark to see beyond a few feet. "We should focus on getting out of here." he says, stepping forwards.

[Left Exit]

Xena walks with them, barely seeing anything for it is very dark."The end doesn't look like it will be showing up anytime soon.." she said tired. "We have been walking for around 30 minutes, and there is still no end to this tunnel. I hope it comes soon." Xena said. "Are you guys worried about Teela? I'm scared to think of what could happen to her, being by herself and all."

"It was her own choice." Song said unsympatheticly. A cold chill crept up her back, but she shrugged it off and continued through the darkness. "W-Wait....." she said suddenly, stopping and turning to look to the right of her. "There's another passageway here."

Adren shoots Song a disapproving look, "It was chaotic, she had no way of knowing she would end up on her own, and no way to turn back." he says. "I just hope she's alright." As she stops walking, Adren turns to see what the cause had been. When he sees the passage on the right, he feels a spark of relief, as so far the tunnel had been identical for the entire route. "Maybe this is finally some sort of exit!" he says hopefully

"Maybe!" Song goes to smile, but a suppressed panic suddenly colours her features. "But wh-what....if....." Shaking her head as if to say 'no, never mind', she steps backwards from the alternative route, and bows her head.
"I don't...mind....which way we choose." As she says this at last, her voice cracks slightly.

What if there's no way out?? Song thinks in a sudden fright. All these passageways, all these routes-- what if they lead no where?! What if they all just lead us... to our end.

She mentally shakes her head. Her legs feeling weak once again, she leans against the wall for support, hoping this action to mistaken as a casual one, and not one of childish fear.

GLaDOS examined her new test subjects, running around like rats in a maze, and swarming like a tumour. The facility was like a labyrinth of sorts, with twisting spirals of tunnel, pipe, and glossy metal. She had noticed everyone except one had fled to the left, leading straight to her chamber. She was shocked by how careless they were about what was to come, though this made things much easier for her.

"Does your death require a guarantee, or are you just slow this morning?" GLaDOS taunted. She collapsed the whole room around the humans, leaving only one platform where they stood. "It seems there was only one person with enough brains to try and stop me," she said. The platform suddenly started moving, bringing them closer and closer inside her chamber, which was in perfect condition. She hung in the centre, resembling an upside-down human, with stretches of wires and buttons all across her hips. She swung forward to get a closer look at her prisoners.

A large glass box came over the top of the platform, sealing everybody inside. "Okay, now this is where it gets interesting. I know one of you is still out there. She is in a sector inaccessible to me at this time, so I'm gonna have to ask you to tell me where she is. If you tell me, you will live. If you don't, we'll have fun."

Song gasped out in a shriken panic as the room around the group collapsed suddenly. Her weak knees slipped under her, and she felt herself fall to the ground, hitting her head hard on the ground. Coughing, she attempted to lift her head up - it was almost as if there were symbols inside her head, crossing violently against her skull with each of her gasping breathes.

A taunting voice sounded in her ears. She froze. T-That voice.... Slowly, she pulled herself up into a kneeling position and discovered the source of the voice.
Song held a hand to mouth to cover up the scream that spilled out of her mouth, onto her lap like a glass of wine.
She squeezed her eyes shut, attempting to block everything out. Her hand reaching out blindly, she managed to grab hold of Adren's leg; she dug her small fingers into his flesh.

Song heard the voice speak again.
Tell us...where she is...? A terrible mix of fear and anger mangled together in her heart. That girl....I said it was her own fault, it was! Unclenching her fists, Song opened her eyes at last, and started up at the pair.
Her head stung dreadfully, but all she could focus on was that terrible voice.

"She--" Song spoke up at last, her throat feeling as if someone had forced her to swallow shards of glass. "She went.....That girl she went...."

[GLaDOS' Chambers]

As the room begins to fall apart around him, Adren gasps and takes a step back. Shakily he falls forwards as he realizes how dangerously near the edge of the platform he is. The same voice that he had heard when the pod room had fallen apart sounds in his ears, he looks up to see the source, a vaguely humanoid mass of wires and metal. It is unlike anything he has ever seen, and he finds his hand flies up to cover his mouth. He feels nails dig into his leg, and he looks over to see Song, face twisted in fear The brains to stop it....? What does that mean? It presents them with the ultimatum - reveal Teela's location or die. His pule rises, his head hurts. He doesn't know what to do. It was three lives weighed against one, but all the same, if they betrayed her he had a sinking feeling that she would surely die. Desperately, he looks around at his companions, looking for answers.

"I don't want to die!" Song blurted or suddenly. "One life or three?!"
She stared hard at Adren's face, seeing a desperate emotion swim in his eyes. Breathing our shakily, she released her grip on the boy's leg, and instead dug her nails into her palm.
"I'm--" a strange choking sound forced it's way out of her mouth and Song pressed her knuckles into her eyes. "I'm telling that thing where she is!!"

[Glados Chamber]

Xena got scared as the room around her fell. Nothing but pitch black. When she opens her eyes what she sees staring at her is some kind of humanoid thing with metals and wires. Xena wondered if she is the one behind all of this. The creepy metallic eerie voice says "Where. Is. The. Girl.?". "If. you. don't. tell. me. we. will. play. a. game." it finished. Xena shuddered. 1 life for 3 is worth it, but she has the guilt all bottled up inside ready to explode. "I suppose we shall tell you..." Xena said with a slight quiver in her voice, staying close to Adren and Song.

Teela paused at the end of the long tunnel to slowly peer around the corner. Glancing around, she rounded the corner once she had confirmed it safe."It's so quiet right now..." she uttered to herself after a few minutes of walking. The walls all looked the same to her, apart from a strange lever that jutted out. "I doubt this is for the lights..." she hesitated before giving in to her temptation and tugged the metal rod downwards. She listened to a small hiss, followed by a few gears clicking behind the wall.

"This is a promise! Not a false, tragic promise like the last one. A real one, with real confetti, and real cake!" GLaDOS teased. Just then, the mechanical lady felt a sudden, sharp twitch up her spine. "If you're not going to play the game, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to play it for you. "Wait, what's going on?" she asked. The sudden shocks continued, and she let out a deafening screech, tossed and turned, until she suddenly flopped, her whole body suspended in the chamber, hanging only by the wires that hung her up.

The light in her eyes began to fade, but without a motherboard present in the facility, the whole place was plunged into complete darkness. The platform the humans were standing on fell to pieces, pulling them away from the surface elevator, which was so close to their reach at that point. They fell down what felt like a bottomless pit, on their way down to the "exit tunnels" beneath the facility's crust, where forgotten test environments and test elements awaited transport to the areas above.

The boltlock switch had been pressed, and GLaDOS would stay inactive for the next several hours, giving the humans a chance to form a strategy for their next encounter, but they may not be alone down there.

Adren watches in confusion as the robot writhes and screeches, before stilling completely. The room is suddenly thrown into darkness, and he feels the ground disappear beneath his feet. He screams as he falls down, down, down until he finally collides with the floor with a heavy thump.

Teela groaned softly and tried to flick the switch back up, but it seemed to be locked in place now. "Didn't expect it would actually be a light switch..." she felt around blindly. She glanced down in the darkness towards her legs. On her thigh was a strange white band with a pink dot in the middle of the front side. The rosey orb shed a bright light, the color matching its hue. She bends down to slip it off her leg. "The light I made... It still works after so many years? I should still make other light sources when I meet up with the others.

"S-She went down the--!" Suddenly the room fell into darkness, and Song felt the platform beneath her lurch. Desperately, she scrabbled her hands across the falling floor and caught hold of someone's foot, and not letting go, she felt herself fall through the air into nothingness. A long, wailing scream forced its way out of her mouth, and continued to do so until she crumbled to the ground below.
Everything was silent. All Song could hear were the groans of her fellow companions, and thumping of blood in her ears. Rolling onto her side, she winced and clutched at her leg in which she's fallen on.
"G-Guys....?" She questioned. Silence answered her. "Are you ok??"

[exit tunnels]

"Y-yeah, I think so...." Adren says. He makes his way to his feet, feeling around in the darkness. "What happened...?" Whatever it was, they'd gotten very, very lucky. He remembers the creature's words, Only one of you had the brains to try and stop me! had Teela helped them somehow..?

[Exit tunnels]

(If I keep changing tenses every post ignore me rip )

Song nods. She knows Adren can't see her, but she does it anyway. Dragging her feet closer towards her, she fumbles around for something to hold onto, and finding Adren's arm, she hauls herself up. "S-Sorry." She mumbles.
She attemps peers through the impenitratible darkness, but her efforts are to waste. "Which way...?" Song asks.

[Exit tubbels]

"Well, um.. we can't really see, so let's find a wall and follow it?" he says, feeling around until he finds the side of the room. His eyes have atleast begun to adjust to the light enough that he can make out the vague outline of the silhouettes of his companions, although beyond that he is effectively blind.
