Really weird download on my switch?...

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but um, I was playing my Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, when I decided to check something on my Home Screen, so I went there real quick and I noticed my Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town game was being downloaded onto it. I haven’t even touched that game yet and it wasn’t even put into my Switch yet since resetting my Switch and games... Was there an update or something that may have caused it to do that or did my Nintendo account just got hacked into?... I’m literally scared right now...

a new major patch for olive town went live very recently — it’s very possible the version 1.05 update caused it to install itself. i don’t think a Nintendo account hack would be able to cause a game to be downloaded since i would think it would have to be accessed directly from your switch to put it On the switch, so there’s no need to be scared of that! (change your password just to be safe though if it’ll help reassure you).

Ok, phew. Thanks so much. I know the Windswept Falls dlc comes out tomorrow, so I wasn’t sure if it was that or not. I think you are right. It probably did a download by itself. Kinda weird.

Ok, so I just checked, it’s not the version 1.5 update. This is really weird...

It won't be due to hacking. When my account was hacked a game was bought on my account but it didn't install itself. I learned that it had been bought, installed, and accessed (and micro-transactions carried out in-game using my credit card) on someone else's Switch while I was arguing with Nintendo Customer Support about the fact I didn't even own it! The application never appeared on my own Switch despite showing up in my profile as having been played.
