Regarding design contests, why are we limited to one image per entry?

Would you support more then one picture entries?

I personally feel like, with this game, I can fit so much details into a scene but if I take only one picture, I am limited into what I can show off in that particular area due to perspectives and such. I understand staff might not want us to make a huge area for a design but I feel like limiting us to one picture isn't fair.

So, I'm curious why we can only submit one picture instead of 2 or 3? Would you support more then one image entries?

This might be an unpopular opinion, but personally I feel like the one picture rule is a good thing. If everyone was allowed to upload multiple pictures, the people with much more time on their hands would have a pretty big advantage, as they could show off a massive area. With this rule, the tournament seems much less overwhelming since you only have to make a pretty small area, and you can just have a fun time building it, instead of worrying about everyone else's mega builds. Plus, I would imagine it makes it a lot easier for the mods to judge all the entries as well!

I voted wrong lol but I think it’s just easier for compiling staff favourites and sorting through entries, but also because it could be unfair if people are posting more angles or further extensions of their design than compared with other people I guess.

Our one-photo restriction is not about trying to limit your creativity. It's about managing our workload.

For every single entry in one of our contests, we have a protocol that needs to be followed to sign that user up for participation prizes and to enrol them for staff voting. For context, in our most recent event, we had 279 entries. That's 279 individual entrants we needed to manually take through our processes. That takes hours to do, for the record. Then on top of that each of us needs to manually go through every single entry again to select which ones are going to go forward for staff favourites or public voting (depending on whether it's a participation event or formal contest). That takes even more time. To increase the amount of images a user could enter would massively increase the amount of time it takes for us to process entries and to get results back to the users. It's just not feasible for us to increase the limit.

One picture makes it fair for everyone, were all given the same amount of room to show off. We're also given more than enough time to make changes to properly incorporate everything we want them to see. I don't think it's unfair at all, especially when you consider that staff had to choose favourites from 250 or so entries with the campsite challenge, so if everyone posted two, that turns into 500 different pictures to siv through, that in my opinion is unfair 😳

i mean think about it this way, with any normal contest doesn't matter what it is, usually only one submission per entry is permitted. i don't see why this would be any different just because it's hosted on a forum. like vrisnem had already mentioned, it would put way too much work on the staff members to have to sort through however many amount of entries + double that if not more, had there been multiple photo submissions allowed. plus it's more of a side challenge to be able to get all you want to convey for whatever theme the contest is asking for in one photo rather than spreading it out ;)
