Removal of villagers

I'm sure most of us would prefer to see the return of older villagers that were not included in the Welcome Amiibo update. However, with the inclusion of entirely new villagers for the new game, I wouldn't be surprised if some from New Leaf do not make their way over.

Are there any villagers you would be disappointed to see excluded from the Switch game? If so, why?

Personally, I'd be pretty sad if they removed Axel again, or others that are also fairly unpopular like Patty.

Aw I'd be disappointed to see anyone go. I don't see any reason to remove any villager unless it's for copyright, exclusivity or controversy reasons. I think the 'ugly' villagers most people love to hate so it would be sad to see them removed

I honestly see no reason to remove any villagers, except for those associated with brands like the Sanrio villagers. I doubt they would have any issues with data size, and I do not know of any current villager that has been controversial. Usually the more variety, the better.

I'd be sad to see anyone go. The more the merrier. Truffles is my arch nemesis and I'd even hate to see her go.

I'd be devastated if Skye was removed. Heck, if it does happen.. I may just continue with New Leaf. But, to be honest, there will probably no villagers left behind solely due to the Amiibo Cards.

I obviously hope they do not remove any villager. If they are going to remove someone thought I hope it's not my favourite villager, Cheri. She was absent in Wild World and Let's Go To Thr City/City Folk and I hope she will be in all future Animal Crossing games.

Well, it may be an unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see a bunch of mice and frogs removed from the game. There are way too many for my liking. Maybe if there were only three or four they'd become popular like the octopus villagers.

I doubt that would change anything. As of writing this, there are 23 cats in New Leaf alone, and that species has many popular members. This is opposed to the 15 mice and 18 frogs. Sure, it might make the remaining villagers more unique, but I don't think it would drastically raise their popularity.

I would agree with you and also mention monkeys! They used to be so exclusive, and there still aren't many, but they're not very popular anyway.

I'd just keep who I liked, if the game allows amiibo move ins.

Gurl when I saw the thread's title I was like um....no villagers at all the heck ? I was about to ask for a dislike button tbh.

But then I read hehe. And uh I really don't want anyone to go away, I kind of want to have more villagers from Animal Crossing (GC), and so brand new ones aswell of course.

I’d keep the amiibo only villagers as they’re only obtained that way, same with the Sanrio ones, I’d like the furniture that came with it to stay as well, it would be a waste if they didn’t. I want some furniture to come back as well (the lovely series, will is cute is missing its radio...)

Would sucks if they would remove any villagers. Could be possible that those amiibo villagers like
the Sanrio ones for example getting removed. Other then that, I hope that Pietro is in the game.

The only ones I see being removed are those Amiibo figurine only villagers (RIP Vich?, I least I have you in one of my New Leaf towns) and the Sanrio ones.
