So, I just reset my older island and I took some valuables to my other island for safe keeping. I thought I would only need to make one trip; surely I didn't have more than about 40 really valuable things to save?? But after making 6 trips, I realized that prioritizing is hard.

If you were going to reset and you could only save 40 items on another island to retrieve later, which 40 items or types of items would you stash for safe keeping?

I prioritized my villager photos, wedding items I earned last summer, and bug models but totally forgot to take any of my fish models!

Great question! I'd probably take 40 bags of 99k bells, honestly. But it also depends on why I'm choosing to reset. If I want a fresh start, I'll take nothing. If it's because I destroyed my island by over-terraforming, then I'd definitely take the bells.

i'd most likely take my bells. but if not bells, probably any undorderable items i managed to get for cataloggings sake. i neeeeed to catalog everything, that's probably my ultimate goal

you can get pretty much all items trading here, so I would save the photos or items with a sentimental value. maybe some gold nuggets or hard to get resources.

I think I would save stacks of resources (wood, hardwood, softwood, iron, stone, star fragments, etc) and some unorderable items like the Mom’s stuff and villager photos.

The only reason I'd reset is to work on a new theme and focus only on landscaping in a speed build type fashion, so I would buy most of my bells, resources, and items off here. In that case, I would take stuff like rarer DIY cards, unorderable mom stuff, and villager photos.

You can carry 40 items + one set of clothes. So the 40 items for me would have to be

  1. 6x 99k bag of bells
  2. 1x 10 stack of NMT
  3. 5x 30 stack of iron
  4. 5x 30 stack of clay
  5. 5x 30 stack of stone
  6. 5x 30 stack of hard wood
  7. 5x 30 stack of softwood
  8. 5x 30 stack of wood
  9. Favorite wand (Cherry Blossom)
  10. Vaulting Pole
  11. Ladder

hm. i plan on never resetting but if i did and could only bring 40 items with me, i think i’d take;

• my rarer spare diys (currently have 7 of these)
• my signature do-rag
• villager photos (currently have 26)
• 6 crescent-moon chairs i really like these,,

this was,, harder than i thought it’d be LMAO. i’d leave behind anything orderable, event items, materials, hybrids, etc because i could just buy those from others but even then,, there’s a lot that i’d want to take with me. 😳

I saved a vaulting pole/ladder, but couldn't fly to another island until the 2nd day, at which point Blathers had shown up, so if I were limiting it to 40, I'd probably save those 2 spaces. Based on what I've actually used since I restarted, I would do 1-8 as listed, and use the other 3 slots for a golden watering can, 1 stack of fencing and 1 stack of hedges.

I’d personally just move my character over, I could keep the complete critterpedia,
complete house and everything that way
unless it’s the island rep idk if that works 😂
but yeah I love my house and critterpedia too much to move
I love my museum too much to move ngl lol

I'll bring a stack of iron nuggets (for Nooks), vaulting pole, ladder, slingshot, and one of each fruit. Then the rest are bells for a quicker start on loan payment.

I don't see myself resetting though. I've spent way too much time on this game.

I’d bring my favourite villager photos; my collection of mom’s aprons, sweaters and knapsacks since they took me forever to obtain; a single blue rose; and as many bells as I could carry!

(I would never reset by choice tho bc losing my villagers and all the diys I’ve collected would break my heart)

I will likely never reset. If I were looking to, however, I would be doing it for the sake of a completely clean slate, so I wouldn't take anything with me from my previous island.
