I thought this would make for a good discussion thread, but am I the only one who has never reset any of their save files in Animal Crossing before? I’ve played Animal Crossing since the GameCube and I don’t ever recall “starting over” on any of my games. I know for a fact that I’ve had Port, my town in New Leaf, since 2013 and never got rid of it, and I’ve had UA Academy, my island in New Horizons, and don’t plan on resetting at this point. Even if I’m not the happiest I can be with the appearance of my place, my villagers, or any other aspect, I’ve always just tried to make the best of it and make it look as good as I can. Don’t know if there’s anyone else like this here, so I’m curious.

I've also never touched the reset button. The difference a new town makes is just so small, especially in NH, since you can always try to take what you have and make it better. I prefer that, since
For my NH island I was actually considering it a while ago, because I strongly dislike my yellow airport. I still decided it wasn't worth trying to transfer items and going through the horrible starting phase again where you have next to nothing and everything is locked until later. Like I said, I'd rather take my several hundred hours of playtime as a foundation for the future.
