While the codename Revolution expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer.
Wii will break down that wall that seperates gamers from everyone else.
Wii will put people more in touch with their games... and each other. But you're probably asking
What does Wii mean, anyway?
Wii sounds like 'we', meaning the console is for everyone."

Woah, this COMPLETELY caught me off guard; I wasn't expecting the new name until E3! But really, who am I to complain?


I really like the name, since it shows Nintendo's goal with the system. I admit, it will be rather difficult to adjust, but that shouldn't take more than a couple of days... One thing I really like about the name is the supposed catchphrase -

"It's not about you and me; it's about Wii." That has a slightly comical edge to it, and the name is sure to catch on with everyone, even if they like it or not. It's an easy name to remember, and it is basically easy to speak in any language. I also really liked the video, but the logo isn't anything special. But honestly, since when does the logo speak for the enjoyment of the system? I think it was done intentionally; the logo is simple, but the system that the logo is for is both, simple, and complex...

Truly awesome, Nintendo.

Remember, we hated the name "Wild World" at first, but love it now. We hated the Revolution controller first, but love it now.

Heck, we hate the Wii now, but will love it soon. I already love it. <3

I never disliked Wild World, I wasn't even here when the name was announced. But I was looking forward to Blue Wave or even Revolution.

Anyways... I don't really care what the name is, but I think this will fail to make the system feel more mature, which seemed to be Nintendo's goal... since the GCN looks pretty "kiddie". I just think it gives another thing for Nintendo bashers to make fun of. :/

You people don't have any open mindedness do you? The name is great, it represents everything Nintendo was trying to do with the Revolution. The name is simple and awesome. Much better than saying Revolution, Rev, or Revo in my opinion. And I'm sorry, but Blue Wave? Thats such a stupid name! Wii is perfect.

At least let it sleep in like Bulerias said. You'll all get used to it, and if you don't, then open your minds to a revolution in video games.

That's an opinion, not a fact. The controller is possibly THE most innovative thing since the analog stick, which, guess what, was also popularized by Nintendo.
