seriously I liked revolution a lot also because it sounds better with games, like super smash brothers revolution! super smash bros. wii? no sounds like tiny melee mode....


and more people did hate it than the controller.... at leasst the controller had an equal number of threads liking it as it did hating it....

I'm not fanboy, but I LIKE THE NAME, perhaps because I don't get peer pressure, like all of you do.


It's blatantly obvious in your example quotes and such.

But really, Wii... It's a simple name, yet shows Nintendo's purpose. And no, it's not remotely Japanese, and if it is, then so is "iPod."

Edit - And the games WILL NOT BE CALLED 'insert title here' Wii. Did the Gamecube have "Mario Cube"? No, and the DS and N64 were exceptions.

and no, i'm not going with the crowd... i heard "wii" for the first time and i thought someone made a typo, it sounds like something you'd name your kid if you lived in asia, you know, they drop a bell, and whatever sound it makes, thats what they name their kid:

"Bing, Bong, Ding, Dong, wii, wong come to dinner, wii're having sushi!"

how can they call this the international system, with such a japenese sounding name.
