Rewatching Avatar the Last Airbender!

Yeah, I remember watching this series and Legend of Korra when I was younger. I haven’t seen either in a long time though, so it could be interesting to go back and watch them again at some point.

Yeah I was thinking today and I think it's been like ten (!!!) years since I last rewatched it. I'd really like to go back and rewatch it at some point, I was absolutely obsessed with it when I was younger.

I just watched it for the first time a few years ago. Great show. Both it and Korra are fantastic.

I wish more American animated TV shows were this way. Most of them are either essentially adult animated sitcoms (like The Simpsons) or kids comedy. I want more shows that has character and world building, where plot lines stretch across multiple episodes. That's why I started watching anime. Not all anime is character and plot driven, but it's easier to find anime that is than cartoons that are. :(

I haven’t watched Danny Phantom in quite a while but it was another one I watched growing up that had interesting plot lines and character development throughout. Since I haven’t watched it in so long I’m not sure if it holds up, but it might be worth looking into!

Hands down the best animated series! It aged really well.
I might rewatch it when the live-action comes out

Been meaning to rewatch for some time but my brother rewatched first (he has netflix) and I guess I kinda stopped by to watch every now and then. Kinda spoiled myself tbh

wow i am also rewatching lmao but im halfway through s2, i stayed up all night watching just s1 bc i couldnt stop lol

It's on my Netflix list, but I don't really want to rewatch it because I still remember so much from it. And it's been like 15 years.

One of the greatest shows of all times without a doubt. Reading through this thread definitely made me want to rewatch it, maybe I'll do that.

One of the best shows ever created, hands down! As soon as it was available on Netflix, I started rewatching! Definitely different from LOK, but it’s still worth a watch!

but let’s not get into how much of a let down that poor excuse of a movie was, the worst thing ever created. like why???

I'd only seen several episodes but never followed the story through, even though I know some of what happens (never saw an episode of LoK also). My uncle was always trying to get my brother and me to watch it because he's Buddhist and teaches martial arts; he would say that Avatar utilized real moves and practices. But I actually didn't like it as a kid because I was an anime snob and thought Americans were appropriating the art lolololol... which is funny because I have no problems with it now as an adult. Like, this show is really good! I understand the hype now. In fact I bought the comics and companion books...

Seeing some of Korean culture reflected in the episodes like eating jook or wearing hanboks made me happy.

Fantastic show. I showed it to my mom the other night, and even she enjoyed it!

The family just finished our first run of all 3 seasons last week. Hands down one of the best Anime I've watched. Top 10 for sure!

I'm interested in getting the trilogy graphic novels that follows the story line and goes into Legend of Korra.

I'm happy that the show is on Netflix again~ I have the dvd set but I'm re-watching it with my sister and its defiantly a treat. I had watched it originally on Nick when it was airing but would only catch snippets of some episodes so having it in a format to marathon all the episodes at once is honestly the best way to do it. There is a lot of character growth and story arcs throughout every episode that you'd miss if you jumped around a lot.

Curious to know, what is everyone's favorite and least favorite episodes? My favorite is The Beach despite Not focusing on the main cast almost at all. I love when shows show the villains on their 'day off' and it explores some of the reasons why Azula and Zuko are the way they are.

My least favorite is Avatar Day. Everything in that episode was frustrating.

i used to watch it when it was on netflix like six years ago... i cried so many times and it really brought back memories rewatching it with my siblings.

I actually never watched it! I don’t know why, but I never saw it!! I think because of all the hype it is worth it to watch, just to see what it is about. How would you rate it?

Omg, I rate it a 10/10 for sure. If you were impressed by the first episode, then you are in for the ride of your life! Absolutely one of the best shows ever!

Sokka is a one of a kind character. There will never be another Sokka.

I find it extremely difficult to try and rewatch Avatar to be honest. I tried about a year ago, and I realized that it was probably best if I let that memory lie. I was fond of it in the past, and I'd prefer not to ruin it now that I'm older. However, Legend of Korra was pretty special, at least for the first season. Amon was a fantastic villain. Otherwise, there was a lot that, that series lacked.
