[Roleplay] Ace City

Classes on the first day we're depressingly boring, no one even bothered to talk to me. During the last lesson, I sat swirling the water that we in a bottle on the teachers desk, since I already knew about the particular part of the curriculum the teacher was talking about.

Ah, home time. My first half day went pretty well. I got a few stares here and there and a "what happened to your arms?" but other than that I quite enjoyed it. I'm now waiting for the bus and see a girl stood across from me. She's the only one who doesn't keep glancing at me. That's kinda weird for me.

When we were finally let out of the last class, I walked past the bus stop, where there was a girl standing with bandaged arms. I was curious as to what happened, but I just walked past, since I didn't need to take the bus to get home.

finally! School is over! I quickly bounded out of the school, and hopped off my bus in the original bus stop. There stands the mergirl. Being the oh-so concerning person I am, I poked her again. "Hey.. I saw you tripped. That must hurt. You ok?" I hope I looked genuine. Everyone always says I'm teasing them, or rubbing it in that they fell or did something embarrassing. But I'm always genuinely concerned... I just planted on my apologetic smile, and waited patiently for her answer.

The girl from this morning came up to me again, asking if I was okay because she saw me fall. I'm not used to people having genuine concern for me, they're usually just being nosy. But I could sense she was, so I replied as nicely as I could. "I'm fine, thanks. It stung a lot but my arms are okay now." I say with a small shy smile on my face.

(Lol nice gif)
My eyebrows scrunched up a bit, trying to decode if I should say this or not. I've fallen before, but the skin on my arms didn't tear off that much.. Plus I saw that it's where most of her scales were. It must be! "You're a real mergirl!" I gasped.

(Hehe, thanks)

Well I guess she figured it out. "Yeah... I am." I smile at her again. I've never quite had that reaction before. But then, most people avoid me and just stare.

My eyes widen in utter excitement. "That's so cool! You must have an awesome life! I just.. You know." I flick my hand I'm the air, and a gentle breeze wafted around me.

I look at her both amused and confused. Awesome isn't quite the word I'd use to explain my life. None the less, I agree. "...Yeah, it's pretty good. And hey don't knock your powers, we go here to help them grow and get better. I never caught your name, by the way?" I may as well get to know this girl, she's probably the most friendly person around here. Besides, she seems pretty nice, if not a bit hyperactive. I could use some positivity in my life.

I nod, a simple gesture. if that's the case, I should reallyyy pay more attention to the lectures. I hope her school days wee more interesting."I'm Kim!" My attention quickly turns to the sunset. Time to go home. "Well, I must go now, but I hope I'll see you again? I just moved here, and this place is a bore with no one to talk to!"

"You probably will, since we seem to be at the same bus stop everyday. See you tomorrow, I guess!" I give her a quick wave and smile. She seemed to be in a hurry, but I just assumed she had a curfew or something. My bus soon shows up after and I hurriedly got on. I couldn't wait to get home as I had a slice of chocolate cake waiting for me in the fridge. Ah, the small pleasures of life.

My footsteps seem loud near the desolate log-house. The stepping stones seem cold and dry now, not full of glittering light when the sun rises. The door creaks as I unlock and open it. Lights flicker on, as I out my jacket on the top of a table. At home. At peace.Afraid until dawn rises. I shake my head in exasperation, and fling myself onto the bed to take a nap.
