[Roleplay] The Aftermath 2.5 - A Cushion For Our Hearts

[Naiad]

"... I know there's a memorial later, and the nanny is coming in a bit, but I can't help but think that I'm forgetting something." I shake my head and sigh.

I watch as Scott and Catherine toddle in. "... Looks like you two little devils are awake." I murmur.

I glance over to see Luna asleep on her pillow. ".... Hmm..." I bite my lip.

 

[Myst]

"Oh, well, I have to go into work today. Think you'll be okay?"

 

[Naiad]

I nod. "... Yeah. I'll see you tonight?"

I click my tongue, signaling Luna to wake up.

 

[Myst]

I smirk. "Yes, you will." I climb out of bed walking towards the closet to get dressed, having memorized the layout of the room with my hands.

 

[Naiad]

I give Luna a quick pat on the head before picking up Scott and Catherine.

"You two will have to be on your best behavior today, understand? Mommy has errands to run, and Daddy has work."

They nod and I smile. "... We'll be downstairs." I quietly add. "Maybe Gio will finally decide to visit this year..." I walk out of the room and head for the kitchen, still carrying the two of them.

 

[Myst]

I mutter under my breath, "I hope he doesn't..."

I quickly get dressed for work and walk out of the room holding Luna's leash. I have a feeling that today is going to be a good day.

 

[Naiad]

I brew coffee and set two mugs on the table.

I glance up as the doorbell rings. "... Looks like the nanny's here.."

I open the door. "We're in a huge rush today, sorry for calling you like this. I mean, we know that you're busy and—" My eyes widen. ".... Oh."

 

[Myst]

I walk down the stairs, allowing Luna to lead me.

 

[Naiad]

"... What brings you here...?"

I fix my collar. "Just thought that I'd stop by to see my niece and nephew for once."

 

[Myst]

I pause near the bottom of the stairs when I hear a familiar voice.

It... couldn't be... could it?

 

[Naiad]

I bite my lip. "Now really isn't a good time."

"I know, the memorial, right?" I sigh. "... I just thought it'd be nice to see Scott and Catherine for the first time in real life. Not just in pictures."

 

[Myst]

I sigh and walk into the kitchen, grabbing a mug of coffee.

I start to sip at it as I walk out towards the front door. Coffee's always relaxing...

 

[Naiad]

"... Maybe some other day..? We're really busy today, Gio, the nanny'll be here any second..."


"Sai, please. I don't get a lot of days off from my work anymore..."

 

[Myst]

I reach to open the front door, Luna trailing beside me.

 

[Naiad]

I smile awkwardly when I notice Blaze. "... Nice to see you again. It's been awhile, hasn't it?" I let out a forced laugh.

I glance at Blaze and shuffle slightly closer to him.

 

[Myst]

I mumble under my breath, "Except you're the only one who can see, ****tard."

 

[Naiad]

"..." I bite my lip. "... Bad wording on my part."

 

[Myst]

"Suuure. Just move out of my way. I have to go to work now."

 

[Naiad]

"... Can I please see Catherine and Scott? Please? I know I haven't exactly been there until now, but I— I just want to see them..."

 

[Myst]

"No, you will get out of my house right now. I am not dealing with you nor do I want my children to ever see their pathetic excuse for an uncle."
