Roleplay Topic..?

So I have though recently about how nice it would be if TheBellTreeForums could have a Roleplay topic..

I hope I'm not the only one who've thought about this or anything.. 8I
I don't know if there have been discussions about it earlier or so, I have only been a member here since february this year so.. Yeah- If I'm not well informed about that, please tell me.

Otherwise, tell me your thoughts about a Roleplay topic on TheBellTree. :v

Plenty of people do the latter in the Basement board already. Members have already brought up making a separate board for RPers but if I remember right, it was said that there aren't enough people who roleplay to warrant another board being made.

Yeah, the Basement is mainly used for role playing, but nobody really role plays here anymore so I don't see a point of one.

I think a point in it all of why we don't have people roleplaying here is thet there's no specific and easy way to keep track of new roleplay ideas and/or roleplayers.

I've already aired my thoughts to the staff about the possibility of a dedicated roleplay board and it was shot down multiple times.

Since then I attempted to create a rather elaborate RP and it spun out because people lost interest. I think I had like, one person keeping up with it at its time of death. Whether that be from anxiety, boredom, or simply lack of exposure, it's hard to say.

If you're looking for RP, this really isn't the site for it, sorry to say. It's just not popular enough here - when I brought it up, the general consensus was more or less "who cares" or "rp is for 13 year olds lmao". (Y'know, on an animal crossing forum. Proud of you guys for missing the irony)

If you dig through my started threads, you can probably find the original topic in which I argued for it til I was blue in the face.

This (the bolded) was the argument others were making. I agree but I guess it isn't guaranteed so maybe they don't want the risk.

OCs aren't just for roleplaying though. I don't roleplay, I just have stories and universes made up for them that I plan on drawing and making into a comic eventually.

I'm 18, I love roleplaying. It makes me write, and I love writing actually. I just, never get to it unless I roleplay.
I can also write out my thoughts throughout my character and sort of "Live in another world" for a moment.
I just like it alot...

Anyone have a great page to recomend to me(and others)? I'm a little lost on the webb searching for it, heh .. ouo

Funnily enough, I've just started two role-plays and I was surprised to find nobody (except the lovely Nightmares) has any interest in them. I think having a whole section dedicated to them would just decrease it even more, and it would be dead.

But that being said, role-playing is really great if done right! It's collaborative writing.

Lol I meant the really stupid cringy 10 year old ones and I put etc cause I didn't wanna write about that anymore. But if what you said is true tbh that's pretty cool lol

That reminds me, last summer or so (around the time I joined) there was a big period of rping, and bad rping at that; me and a bunch of other under 13's were obsessed with making bad rp's for some reason lmao.
It was a really fun time however, like I remember making a roleplay about being trapped in an abandoned amusement park, and these two people were able to make it into a tragic love story thing and it was great haha.
I would like to roleplay again, but no one seems to have any interest in it anymore. I'm very socially awkward at times and I won't do things (such put up a roleplay thread) until I see someone else doing it.
And while a couple people are trying to bring it back to life, they're getting almost no attention.

I purchase and tend to OCs, because I like art. That's one of the main reasons I really purchase them. I like having your own character which you can build a personality around, and purchase art for them. It's just cool to me.

Secondly, I can see how roleplaying is a very good way to build your own character and affect a story in real life time, with other people contributing ideas to make the story go further. However, I, personally, don't enjoy roleplaying for two reasons: one, I never have time, two, I've had bad experiences with them. I'm not going to pretend I speak for the people, since I don't, so I'll reference my own experiences. Roleplaying for me, was just a bunch of little kids who want to date online. That's it. My exposure to role-play was to make a family, and get a boyfriend. There was nothing else in between. And, most of the people I role-played with were girls anyways. So it wasn't like it made much of a difference. But role-play just made a bad taste in my mouth over the years. Now, I don't do it.

On that note, I do create stories, and I like making characters, but I enjoy doing it on my own time and ideas, rather than let someone else dictate the story for me. Roleplaying does seem fun, if you cut out the part of love interests, and put in strict story. If I had time, I may just join one, but for now, no.

So in response to your role-play topic idea, I don't think it's popular enough to make a topic. Only some people make threads and want to role-play, but no one wants to join, sadly enough. So the demand isn't enough to make it happen. Hopefully you find a place to role-play though!

I don't think it is popular enough to have an entire board for it but I don't see why starting one in the basement is a bad idea.

I don't see a problem with RPing. No matter what age you are. Maybe it's seen as weird, childish, etc. But some RPs turn into something bigger. It's actually more like, acting in a play, but online. To me it's no different then performing any other kind of story, except where it's taking place of course. There are real people, playing characters both fictional and non-fictional, and acting out a story. Even if it's like some sorta joke, cringey, horseplay kind of RP. In the end though, I just don't think it'll be popular enough on this site. Perhaps make a TBT RP Discord chat? Since Discord is so big now, it might get more attention. If all else fails, you might just wanna find yourself some popular RP sites. Good luck guys! I've grown outta RP, but it's still fun and a great creative outlet, so I encourage it!

We have no plans to bring back the roleplay board, since they still seem to be minimal, but things can always change. If the quality, quantity, and demand for roleplays were to increase, then we might consider bringing it back, but it's something I doubt will be seen any time in the near future.
