It'll be good to have access to them. I have Judy and Raymond on my island, and although I considered that very lucky given how difficult they were to come across, i'll probably let Judy move out in favour of another dreamie once the amiibo card is available. Judy is great but I feel like i'm mostly keeping her about because my chances of getting her back if I regret it would be slim. Now with her amiibo card is knocking about I don't have to worry too much.

I usually don’t buy into leaks and wait for Nintendo to say something for sure. I’m glad I have majority of their original amiibos and the villagers i love.

I’m not impressed with any of the new villagers except MAYBE Audie and it’s only because she’s an old lady who loves the beach.

And idk if it will knock down some of the desire for Raymond. You can buy Marshall amiibos legit or pirated and people still lost their undies over that little gremlin so ehh who knows

Personally, as much as I want amiibo cards for NH villagers, I do not want any more releases until they address what happened with the sanrio cards as well as Target address the removal of one star of reviews. I want to see some change to how they handle amiibo releases, policies to restrict scalpers, and something to prevent people from using bots for orders. I still have to finish my WA collection but I hesitate from buying more packs because I’m absolutely disgusted with how they and target handled/planned things. they had cracked down on the past on people selling hand made amiibos, yet they still make them hard to get. so if they had hand made amiibo cards so much, why do they make it so hard to get the official ones?

Disagree- I love Raymond way more because he's a cat with odd-colored, adorably shaped eyes and cute glasses. His design has way more detail then Marshall, so while rarity plays a factor, he's also just a neat villager in general.

BUT I am excited to see him and the other newbies become more common!

AND I'd certainly love to be able to buy more Amiibo packs in stores! I only have a handful of cards now and would love to buy some more~

So the sequel to The Battle at Target is happening. I hope it's better well received. The plot twist where they actually sold cards in store was awful, hope they don't do something like that again in this installment.

Seriously though, I hope they make enough cards, not have it exclusive to one store and not only be able to order online. That was not fun.

I haven’t heard that before but if the rumors / announcement is true, then I hope it’ll help people get the new villagers that they wanted but having a hard time doing so.

I don’t particularly care about Raymond but I’m content with having Audie and Cyd on my island, so I can understand how the amiibo will help others who may not as lucky as me or want to stress themselves with trading with strangers -especially for Raymond!

That said, I do hope that Nintendo will do a much better job with distributing the new amiibo cards and have them be available in more location besides Target. Or even handling pre-orders so they can have a real understanding of how many they should prepared and how much more they should make for retail / online stores so it can discourage people who may buy them all up just to resell them for a much higher price.

Personally I think it’s worth pre-ordering rather than making a very limited quantity of them even if it takes a bit more time and guaranteed stocks for those who truly want it. ^^’

Okay well this turned into another speculation thread. Lets not jump to conclusions. We really do not know when this will be announced. I think we should really slow down on the speculations, because a lot of times when Nintendo mentions something that is coming or if its a rumor started by someone, people tend to speculate "Oh what if this is there or what if this NPC makes a return this time"? Most times when that happens people get their hopes up too high and they got disappointed.

Its impossible to predict whats going to happen in the future and I think by the end of the day we will get more updates with the game, since Nintendo made it clear that they were planning on supporting this game for 3 to 4 years so its not like they are going to abandon the game and move on to something else. All we can do is wait and see what happens. For now I think we just need to really slow down on the speculations, because I can see it being pretty tiring and it can pretty repetitive. We can only hope for so much and when it doesn't happened we just have to keep on waiting until it eventually happens. Its frustrating I know, but it is what it is.

Well either way, I have most of the original amiibo cards and have pretty much all of the villagers that I want. So, I think I'll just enjoy what I have and maybe one day seek out the new villager amiibos. Maybe. I don't really care about most of them that much really. Either way, we'll see what happens and if this soon comes true.

I'd rather they re-release the Welcome Amiibo cards.

I'm not really interested in the 8 new villagers -- at least not enough to buy another card pack, and especially not after the whole Sanrio thing. I don't see them releasing a pack of 8 villagers, either... but who knows.

I think/hope when they do create amiibos for the NH characters, they'll introduce some new ones as well. (Only 8 new villagers seems rather low compared to NL and the WA update.) A new species would be great.

imo, the release of amiibo cards for the new characters is inevitable but currently it seems to just be speculation. regardless, despite the fact that i do like the new villagers, i likely will not be participating in any amiibo card launches for quite a while after the whole sanrio fiasco and the fact that neither nintendo or any of the stores involved have yet to even address what happened. getting information shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth so i think that i’ll just stick with etsy for any amiibo needs.

I don't think I'll buy them but if this is true it's good news, I like knowing that I could let go of Raymond and buy him back from an amiibo cycling store on this forum.

For those who want to buy them I hope it's handled better than the sanrio release, especially outside of the US. In France there was no official release date, appart from preorders at Fnac which closed very fast there was no way of knowing who would have the cards where. We got the announcement on french nintendo twitter and that was it, no details no nothing, not even on Nintendo's official french website. It was very disappointing to see so little done to let people know where they can by the cards, when NH has been so successful and has such a big playerbase.

I really would like a Raymond card. Like everyone else, I have hundreds of thousands of Nook Miles. I tell myself every time I need to go villager hunting I'm holding out for Raymond. But....about 10-15 islands in, I find some cool looking villager I've never seen before and settle. I want that cat!
