Rumor: Nintendo is planning to create a new set of Amiibo cards, probably to introduce the new neighbors

That is fascinating, I wonder if this comes true though. If this happens, I will get those cards for the collection. I hope not to see craziness, like what happened to the rerelease of Sanrio cards almost a month ago.

If it's real, the Judy and Raymond and dom cards will get sold out like the mori collectibles. I bet it would make it even harder for people who want him.
(I really want cyd, so I doubt the cards with cyd will sell out nearly as fast than the ones with Judy, raymond and dom)

This wouldn’t be an issue, because they aren’t licensed cards (like sanrio) so they’d be adoptable for everyone. Raymond and Judy would sell for idk 10 tbt or whatever it is you can order amiibo villagers for now
and if you don’t have online you could go for alternatives...

Not holding my hopes up, but it would be nice for an all cat island. I didn't want to island hunt for Raymond, so I've yet to do it. Plus, I hope to eventually collect all the official animal crossing amiibos of NA anyways.

Also not holding my hopes up because they only say we will probably get 100 more amiibos since there is a missing 100 amiibos that haven't been revealed.

Not gonna lie, I really want the cards so I can finally let them off my island...

I have Audie, Sherb, Raymond, Reneigh, and Dom.

I can’t let them go because of how I want to hoard them and would feel terrible if I want them back after letting them leave.

Would these be for the new comers like Raymond and Audie? I don't really have any desire for them in my island, but owning their cards in case I want to later or whatever would be nice. However, I can see the scalpers slurping these up to. Especially because the new comer dreamies are involved.

It would be nice for me to be able to cycle Audie out of her Peppy starter home and into her proper house, but otherwise I'm not too pressed. I 100% support it though to crush the Raymond Market gouging and misery!

I like that idea, and that would also make the need for unofficial cards to go down (especially since I'm sure nintendo is trying to figure out a way to stop them from being made).

If this rumor does turn out to be true, it will be interesting to see what new NPCs/villagers they might include, as well as how much the new card design might vary from the original design (assuming they change the card design).

I hope this is true, because I’m a sucker for trading cards (collected & own all the cards released thus far because I’m obsessed lol).

But Nintendo really needs to learn from the Sanrio incident. Limit the amount of packs available to each person. Luckily, I don’t think the demand will be as high as it was for the Sanrio cards— while those cards offered exclusive items & villagers only obtainable from the cards, the new wave will just be villagers that are already available in-game. It can probably be assumed that they won’t add any new furniture through those amiibo, either. Most people who want these popular villagers already have them.

On a side note... I think it would be really cool for Nintendo to essentially remake the WA update from NL and bring in new villagers with new exclusive furniture (and a new area for our island). Probably won’t happen, but it could be cool!

I wonder if they'll bring in new villagers (new species, maybe?) or if they'll bring back cut ones from GCN/64.
That'd be neat.

if people are basing this off the gap in amiibo ids there’s a chance new cards could be made for the welcome amiibo rv villagers in the style of the basic cards. that would bring up the total villager cards to 58, and with the standard 17 nps per series that brings us up to 75 in a theoretical series 5. there’s also another 10 collab villagers aside from the sanrio ones...

either way, if they do another series i really hope it comes with another reprint of the first 4.

You know if this is done it'll be as rancid a release as the Sanrio sets, but upside to this the card data will be out there for people to make the amiibo coins for villagers like Raymond, and the trading price for the New Horizons villagers will go down.

Yeah I already know that if this happens, I'm probably just going to buy some reasonably priced bootleg ones. Not that I don't want to support Nintendo. I just don't want to support scalpers.

Oh great, Audie can haunt me even more now. Just kidding~

So, I personally would like the new villagers to be in game still, since its like a goal you can only achive in game, and can't just get a card for. Its kind of a thrill to find a dreamie, esspecially if your dreamie is one of the in game villagers

When I found Sherb, I was so happy, I found him material hunting and was so happy to find him on my own, it was so satisfying. Yes, I know this is coming from a cycler,

But I think it would be better to leave them in game. Much more satisfying to find them. Then to maybe relese new villagers, or ones that arnt in new horizons, and only from the other games.

For some people who dont like island hunting, or have been looking for one of them for months, then its pretty sweet. You get your own with no trouble. But for me, I like the thrill of finding one on my own. Like Sherb, even though the majority of mine are from Amiibo or from very kind people, in game finds are the most satisfying still.

Also, stop dissing the scelpers, most are really nice, and help you with dreamies
