Wireframe = a brush that just has a bunch of lines like wire
soft brush = circular but not a definate edge, fades off
textured = umm like the 3rd line of brushes in PDs I think

A soft brush is like a normal circle brush, but it doesn't just stop abruptly. It gets more transparent when you get closer to the edge.

1) Layer->New Adjustment Layer->GradientMap...

2) Select the Black and White gradient.

3) Click ok and make necessary adjustments to the layer style.
